Do you still smoke with nicotine or without?

try 5mg n keep vaping non stop until u feel like vomiting... then switch to 0 nic after few weeks n keep on vaping the whole day... once u get used to it, u would feel uncomfortable with high nicotine... However, it all comes down to the person’s determination and mentality. The device and liquid may only act as an alternative but without a strong effort, it will come go back to square one and everything The money and time spent will be wasted... gud luck! :D

I was a 3 PAD smoker when I switched (literally) overnight to vaping. I chain vaped 24 for a couple months. Then I would keep a tank of 18 full and chain that all day. Hitting the 24 once in a while if needed. After a week or so I went to 12. Same routine. After a couple months of this step down routine, I was at 0.
I have gone back to 6 because I like a little TH, and 0 nic produces 0 TH

Once I got to 0 nic I was able to go days w/o vaping with out any issue at all. I just really enjoy vaping and I am very much addicted to the hobby and collecting (hoarding) end of this lifestyle. :)

Good Luck

Welcome , I have been vaping for a little over two years now . Started with 24 mg , after 6 months , went to 18 , then 2 more months , to 12 , then 6months later 6 mg. was enough . Vaped that for awhile , and started DIY . One time I forgot to add the nicotine , and vaped the whole bottle , before I realized , there was no nic , at all . So pretty easy . Now both my wife and I use 0 nic. juice , which makes DIY , very easy 50/50 on the PG/VG and flavoring . Done . The other day I actually tried some 12mg . juice . Seemed way too harsh . Put it away and went back to the 0 . Like said earlier , try going to 5 or 6 mg. then after you can handle that , there is not much left dropping to 0 . As 6 mg. is considered , very low .

Good to have read this post. I have just transitioned to 18mg. I may attempt to speed up the process.

Well, I'm proud to say I no longer smoke...

But I VAPE 18mg ;)

Only way i even bother attempting to move my nic level down to 0, is if it's outlawed abd I start burning through my reserves.... And that's not in an attempt to quit, just an attempt to not be the FDA's tax slave.

I vape 12mg for a short fix in the morning. 6mg for a little during the day. 12mg after supper. 0mg until bed. I can also start the day on 6mg depends on my mood. I will get mine down to 0mg. I am sure you can figure out when you feel like you need the nic the most. I would suggest a variety of MG's to help step down.

Accidentally moved down to zero over a period of a month and am just sticking with it. Other than the occasional craving that goes away after a few seconds on its own or vaping, my body never noticed the switch.

(For anyone curious, I started at 18mg nic and as my taste buds came back, found the juices started having a harsh flavor and peppery feeling that made the experience uncomfortable. That went away at around 6mg but then I was chain vaping and kept giving myself headaches.. so then I went to 2mg, then 1mg, and just went to 0 to see what my body did and nada.. No reaction to the lack of nicotine )

Work your way down from 12... then mix 12 and 6mg nicotine.. then 6 mg.. then 6mg and 0... then hopefully you'll be at zero.

To be perfectly honest, nicotine IS NOT bad for you. I won't go into detail, but it literally hits your "happy" receptors in your brain then leaves your system within a matter of minutes. It's like being addicted to coffee. Hopefully that makes some sense. With that said, I love vaping and don't plan on reducing the nicotine level at all. No carcinogens, no second-hand smoke, and no throat/lung cancer. Life is bliss...

Gradual step-down is the easiest way that I know of, only 1 - 2 mg decrease at a time.

Get your favorite eliquid at your present 12 + a bottle at 6 mg/ml. You can then drop from 12 mg/ml down to 6 mg/ml with the following 3 intermediate steps:

1. 2 parts 12 mg/ml + 1 part 6 mg/ml = 10 mg/ml (2/3 12, 1/3 6).

2. 1 part 12 mg/ml + 1 part 6 mg/ml = 9 mg/ml.

3. 1 part 12 mg/ml + 2 parts 6 mg/ml = 8 mg/ml

Dropping by 1 - 2 mg/ml steps is easier than a big jump. In my case I do things slowly, will stay at one level for a couple weeks before dropping to the next. I find I may vape a bit more for the first couple days after a change, but quickly drop back to my long term average consumption (in terms of ml/day used).

Even as you get to 0 mg/ml, it can be handy to keep a bit of eliquid with some nicotine, at least 6 mg/ml and maybe 12 mg/ml. I've known long-term vapers who have been at 0 for some time who still hit a stress/craving time. If you hit an "I want to smoke" point it's better to vape with nic than go back to cigs.

Good luck!

I was vaping 0-nic for 2 days upon quitting cigarettes b'coz I didn't have access to nic-juices. And those 2 days were hell! Since fetching a nic-vendor I tried a bottle of 12mg... didn't satisfy me & begun 24mg thereon. Is 24mg that harmful?

24 mg/ml is common for people who smoked full strength cigarettes, absolutely fine if that's what your body needs. Some people stay at 24 long term (others vape up to 36 mg/ml long term) without problem -- they've wiped out the vast majority of the bad stuff from smoking, but still get the stimulant effects of nicotine.

When I started I used 24 mg/ml most of the time, with a bit of 30 or 36 for craving points, and down at about 16 mg/ml for chain vaping at a computer. After about 9 months I dropped to 20 mg/ml (I had recently switched to variable voltage, and increased my ml/day a lot, realized that I probably could cut the nic). After another handful of months I started a slow decrease, 1 - 2 mg/ml steps, 3 weeks at a given level, until I hit 10 mg/ml.

I've been happy at 10 mg/ml, but for kicks decided to start a bit of a decrease again. I'm vaping 9 mg right now, will probably nudge down slowly to 6 mg/ml over the next 9 weeks.

(I DIY, mix my own eliquid, so it's easy for me to do 1 mg/ml increments.)
