...I still wouldn't go outside with the smokers knowing full well that they are going to light up and tell them to 'put it out' because that is still just obnoxious.

I think Zeroi meant do you "feel like" asking people not to light up...NOT if you have gone to a smoking area to vape and told smokers to stop.

As far as second hand smoke goes, unless you spend your days in smoke filled rooms, I wouldn't worry about any health issues. The secondhand smoke issue is WAY overstated...a whiff of tobacco now and then has never harmed anyone. Yes the concentration of toxins in the smoke that comes off the lit end is higher than that of the smoke that passes through the filter end, but you breathe in much less of it, and much less often as a non-smoker.

I quit smoking several years ago. My then-wife was still a smoker. When we moved from Kentucky to Maryland, we dealt with smoking bans for the first time. In order for her to have a smoke, she needed to get up and go outside. As a non-smoker, the smoking bans were interrupting my meals and making my wife feel alienated.

So I pledged that I'd never let someone smoke alone unless they wanted to. So I started getting up and going outside during my wife's smoke breaks, even though I didn't smoke.

I did eventually start smoking again after a few years. I'd always join my friends on smoke breaks and still will/do.

Somewhere in time.
With the exception of my house I don't vape indoors. I will step outside and vape with the smokers. They usually ask "what's that?" and I give them a quick education on vaping in hopes of converting them to e-cigarettes :).

LOL-I do the same thing. The kids I work with think it's amusing-most of the older people I work with think it's cool. A few want to try it and I give them business cards and coupons:) Hopefully one day I won't be the only "open" vaper at wallyworld.......I do know I have a few people I work with that vape at home, but feel it looks silly-so they smoke at work:(

Ive gotten to the point where I just vape where I am unless its someone elses house. If it is someone elses home, I get up to go outside. However, more often than not Ive been stopped by the owner who have then let me vape in their house.

For example my sister in law HATES smoking. I mean HATES IT. The smell of cigarettes makes her physically ill. We all get together for 4th of July at my wifes uncles place and camp on his property. If someone smokes ( outside ) she will get up and move away from the cigarettes...far away. But when i got up at her house to go outside to vape, she said," Theres no real smoke right just vapor? " I said yes and she said," then just do it here. Youre fine" She even commented on how the smell of my mojito was pleasant.

I like this one. i used to smoke alot lot even before Bed, i used to stink like Tobacco and my Partner doesn;t like it. when i have my last stick of the day, i usually have to brush my Teeth and sometime feel like going Sallow Dettol <just kidding on this>. Seriously i need to make the smell go off before i can touch the bed with my partner. but the point is after i started vaping and i feel the different, i think serious even after every last vape, i still smell like strawberry or even with good menthol breath in my mouth. now she don't even notice it. but true sometime i already forgotten to Vape as i vaping lesser.

Given the Chance to explain to anyone (friends or stranger) who is interested in knowing how the e-cig works for me, i willingly going to share the experience with them.

I work in a place where they have a "smoke shack" outside. Even when i did smoke cigs I always said if i every quit smoking i would still go out there and talk because there are alot of good and cool people out there. Not to mention the fun discussions that are usually going on in there.

I dont mind the smoke, the smell or anything. It has windows and an open door so there is enough ventilation.

If I'm out with friends and they have a cigarette, then yes, I go out with them and vape. Doesn't bother me at all. I'd rather be included in the conversation. I'm going to smell it when they come in anyway. I don't go out with my husband every time he has a cig at home, but I do sometimes, just to have some adult conversation without kids interrupting. In public (restaurants, shops, homes of others, anywhere besides bars,) and at work, I usually use the restroom for a quick vape fix. At bars, I'd love to vape inside, but I'd have to see someone else doing it first. I have only used it indoors openly in my own home, my brother's house, parents' house, and hubs' parents' house.

There's not one recorded case of anybody ever dying because of second hand smoke. It's a myth. . .rather akin to Global Warming. When my clothes stink. . .I wash um.

Cheers,

At the school cafeteria at my college campus (also next to the student lounge), I vape freely- I was given permission as long as I don't bother anyone. So far so good :)

But, I don't like making a scene so I'll sometimes go outside- it's so strange though! I don't really do much right now school has me busy, but in most public areas I ninja-vape :D

Not that I don't agree there is probably a link, but smoking advocates could argue that emphysema also occurs in people NOT exposed to cigarette smoke and it doesn't always occur in people who actually DO smoke, so there is no guarantee that she wouldn't have developed it even if she didn't live with a smoker.

Not saying I necessarily agree, but it is a compelling argument.

I'll be a little more blunt since it seems that you don't understand my answer.

Again I'm NOT that much of a narcissist that I'd intentionally walk into the smoking area, and feel like I'd want to tell off everyone who smoked in the smoking area. - I understood the question. Thanks!

Then again I'm in the US where e-cigs aren't banned and we aren't all herded like cattle into an enclosed bus stop to smoke as the OP has to deal with. Then again if it bothered me that much I wouldn't go in there. I'd find ways to work around it. I most certainly understand her point of view. I just don't agree.

To each their own. :)

Can't say that I care for the smell after a certain point. However I still do socialize with the smokers.
I'll always have the option to stand there and deal with it, which is no one's fault but my own.
Or I could simply move away from there because I realize that area might no longer pertain to me.

Just sayin'

Do you Vape with the Smokers? Do u have the Feeling that you wanted to ask him put that Cigarette out as it is really Stinky.

Do I still vape with smokers...Every chance I get!

Do I ever feel like telling a smoker to put out that stinky cigarette: Hell NO!

I understand the question and the reasoning. However, it instantly brings to mind the high profile nagging "radical reformed smoker" that (unfortunately) we all were so familiar with when we smoked.

Am I concerned about exposing myself to 2nd hand smoke: Hell No!

I can walk into any smoking area and vape and be instantly accepted. Not true anywhere else! If the smell bothers me...I can walk away, but the thought of telling a smoker to put out that stinky cigarette NEVER crosses my mind. What does cross my mind is sharing information about vaping IF there is interest...and there is always interest.
