After vaping for a few month, I realized that I can't tolerate "second hand smoke“ anymore. I walk away when someone around me lights up. What about you guys? Are you still attracted to the smoke flavor?

I'm asking this because some of my smoking buddies (who I'm trying to convert) thinks that vaping lacks the smell and taste of real cigarettes, as if it's something attractive. Personally, I've never been much of a fan when I smoked. It was the nicotine that addicted me, not the "taste." In fact, I often spit after smoking because the after-taste it leaves behind is nasty.

For sure. My Wife calls me a bloodhound now. I can smell a smoker from 100 yards!

^This. I can smell a smoker in the car in front of me if my vents/window are open. The actual smell while someone is smoking is unpleasant but tolerable.... but the lingering smell on someone who has recently smoked is nauseating.

I don't love or hate the smell of cigs/smoke. I didn't like people judging me so I don't judge smokers.
your buddies are right, vaping doesn't smell or taste like smoking :)
instead of trying to convert uninterested people, I suggest they might get an ecig to use when they can't smoke (airport, hospitals, etc). that suggestion has led a few people to drop cigs and vape full time ....
I actually started vaping to just cut from 2 1/2 pad to 1 pad, but I quickly far exceeded that goal :)

I still like the smell of freshly lit cigarettes. I also like the smell of gasoline, but wouldn't want to make a habit of inhaling either of these! lol
Seriously, after almost 14 months off of tobacco, I am not a hater of smoking , just grateful I don't have to do it anymore.:toast:
Like the smell of smoke, and double like the smell of gas. Agree with Chessie, though. I don't inhale - just smell. :)
PS. Check it out - I did a newspeak without thinking about it. :)

The smell of analogs do bother me a bit, especially if im in a room full of smokers.... but what bothers me worse is my inlaws who tell me that what im smokeing smells worse then a cigarette! and they both smoke! They will hold there nose and leave the room when i vape because they say its a stomach sickening sweet smell.... (mind you i never once made a stink or said anything while they chain smoke in a small room)

I like the smell of a cigarette....not enough to ever put one in my mouth again, but enough that it does not bother me. Like many of you said, since I quit, I can smell it from a distance. I promised myself that when I finally did quit, I wouldnt hold it against the smokers, and I wont.

One of the most amazing things about vaping (and really more about quitting analogs) is that I dont smell like that anymore. My clothes are all clean (found a sweatshirt in the back of the closet from before I stopped that was HORRIBLE!!!!), and my car smells good now even without an air freshener.

I was in a Cracker Barrel for breakfast a couple days ago and a heavy smoker was seated right behind me. The smell was overpowering. I got up and headed towards the restroom in a feint to ask my waitress to change our table and explained to her why...we hadn't gotten our food yet btw. She came over to the table a couple minutes later and "spilled coffee on the table soaking the napkins and all and asked us if we would move tables so she could get it cleaned up. Later when she brought our food she said the guy must chain smoke in his car because even tho she smokes she could smell the stale smoke on him.

She got a great tip.

It's getting harder and harder to be around smokers now. I just can't believe I smelled like that for years. Yuck. I am so glad I don't smoke anymore. The first time I really noticed it was about a month into this journey, and someone was outside the pizza place smoking, and the smell made me gag. I just couldn't stop thinking about how bad it was.

The other times I quit ( without vaping ) I actually enjoyed the smell of cigarettes. I could smell them a mile a way, but I liked it.
This time, I don't like it. When my wife walks by after having a cigarette she smells like I just rubbed an old used ashtray in my nose.

Same here. I quit smoking for about 8 years and didn't mind the smell of cigarettes. But, this time the smell really bothers me. Moreso, the stench of the aftersmoke. Going into the elevator, I can tell if the previous occupant was a smoker who had just gone up from the smoking area.
