It doesn't bother me at all to smell a lit cigarette but an ashtray has to be in another building.
do you vapers now find cigarette smell to be a turn off now?

^ This is exactly what I was going to say. Once away from actual smoking, and I can smell it on someone who just smoked, it smells really bad.
I can't believe I used to smell like that.
+1 to that! I've been vaping about 15 months now; and I still love the smell from a lit ciggie. I will even go over to someone that is smoking outside and stand next to them and vape (cause I still love the smell)! However, the smell coming from someone who has just smoked makes me want to hurl!
i go to bars all the time that allow smoking...doesn't bother me, my g/f smokes but not really around me besides at the bars and i can smell it, doesn't bother me at all
cigarette smoke bothers me more than it used to, but the ashtray smell makes me wanna puke!
Funny this thread came up, because a strange situation just happened to me yesterday. Understand first of all, my hubby still smokes analogs like a freight train, so I am around it all the time - he has his one little ashtray he moves with him through the Kitchen and Family Room.
Yesterday, my Granddaughter and I just came out of Walgreens, open crisp winter air! We were walking to my car, and out of a parked car came an elderly woman with a oxygen tank, and about a half smoked ciggy in her hand. She had just released that puff of smoke and it hit me square in the nostrils - I honestly thought I was going to be sick - it was so strange that it hit me so hard, when my hubby smokes all the time in our house.
Just a sidenote: After the school holiday break, we had to have my Granddaughter's coat drycleaned since it reeked of her Grampa's cigarette smoke after her being here all the time while her Mommy worked!

I don't like the smell of smokers anymore. Keep thinking I smelled like that. Bleh.... Not too fond of cigarette smoke anymore, but I do like the smell of a Swisher Sweet cherry tobacco and some pipe tobaccos. 
Pretty much the same for me - it doesn't seem as bad when someone is smoking, but the elevator reeks if someone who just had a cig was in there recently.
I can't stand the smell! My husband and I were in Lowe's the other day and I could smell the guy in the next aisle. I looked at hubby and asked if I used to smell like that, and when he said yes I was mortified. I'm constantly amazed at how much better my sense of taste and smell are since I started vaping.
Only been a week for me and I do not find the smell aweful, however I took a drag off an analog after a week of vaping and it was absolutely disgusting. Glad I took that one drag too because I think it will make it make it that much easier to never have one again.

The initial smell of a smoke being lit up smells ehh.. ok.. the lingering smell is horrible. however i used to roll my own analogs and i can tell you the smell of a fresh bag of tobacco stil smells great.. however i wouldnt be able to light it up as the taste makes me sick.. i have only stopped analogs for 2 weeks now.. and i can smell so much better.. i quit analogs after 20 plus years of smoking..
My wife still smokes and I cant stand the smell anymore. I'll have to leave the room or something. Sometimes its so bad I'll get noxious. I dont know if its just a phase or what. I can even smell it if someone is driving by while I'm outside. It's horrible and I cant believe I used to do it lol. I tried a drag a couple of weeks ago just because and it was disgusting. It took an hour of vapn to get rid of the taste.
Its getting worse all the time. Yesterday I walked over the smokers section for the conversation and could barely tolerate it.

No, I like it.It reminds me of what I used to do and I think about how there was a time that I wouldn't have noticed the room odor. It doesn't bother me at all and I'm glad other people are still smoking. I feel like shaking their hand.
The smell of smoke always bothered me while I was smoking. The stale smoke on clothes and in my car (my fiance still smokes) is what I notice now that I never noticed before and that bothers me more than fresh smoke. Cant believe I used to smell like that and can't believe i never realized it.
I've quit a few times and I knew what I smelled like. I knew if I had just smoked and walked into the office, my office mates would have to smell me. I don't care for the smell of smoke, but I have a lot of friends that do smoke. I would never dream of telling them to quit. I don't like to be segregated with the smokers and I try to stay up wind from them as much as possible. I don't want to smell like a dirty ashtray any more.
I'm in a mom and pop motorcycle club. We all hug each other hello. I could smell "dirty ashtray" on all of the smokers this past meeting. I knew I had smelled like that when I smoked, and it always bothered me.
I was in a staff meeting today and didn't hear the customary "euuuw your a smoker sniff" from my colleagues. It felt good that I don't have to worry about that stink any more.
I 100% agree on the ashtrays, especially in the sequestered smoking areas. It reminds me of how airport smoking lounges used to smell when I walked by them.

I like it when its a fresh burning analog, but the stale smell heavy smokers have i have always found disgusting. Im glad i never used that much, would only smoke outside, and paid attention to wind so as to not get smoke on me lol.
It is a little but more unappealing now, but i still even crave analogs. I just dont have them around, and after a few hits on an ecig my cravings subside.

The smell of smoke has always been bleh to me and that's even when I was smoking. Every time I would go to the smoking area at work to light a cigarette I hated it. Now that I'm vaping, the hate that I have for the smell hasn't gotten worse surprisingly. Although I still have to go to the smoking section to vape (to follow building policies), I tend to stand away from where everyone is smoking and just vape so I don't have to deal with the smell.
