Does a non-leaking, no fiddling, decent vapor producing ecig exist?

Yeah I'm on my 2nd day using my first resurrector and my only comparison to the vapor levels is a 1.5 ohm 306 atty I use on my REO. It just has an instant-on heat/vapor quality with what I consider to be better flavor (I find all attys give their juices a little tick of their own flavor). Anyhow, really really liking them and an unbeatable price (my jaw even dropped a little bit when I got to the end of the CCV order process and found out that shipping was free on my $20 order... whaaa??)

I am still waiting for my order. I think maybe he's out of stock because he usually ships pretty fast.

A REO Grand would solve everything, but the initial cost can be overwhelming.

I use Boge 2.0 cartomizers on mine, each one lasts a week. I don't want to deal with atomizers dying on me, or having to carry a spare. A cartomizer, even when it's dropping off in performance, will still work long enough to get home to replace it, even a day or two later. Cartomizers last a long time on REOs and perform the same all the time - you squeeze the bottle through the opening and suck up to hear a gurgle (without power) and they are wet again. After a few days of doing this, you don't even think about it anymore, its a one-handed action.

This would be a no-hassle REO Grand shopping list (not including shipping):

REO Grand ($141)
(2) AW IMR 18650 batteries (about $20)
Pila Charger ($40-45)
(15) Boge 2.0 cartomizers (about $20)
Drip Tip ($2-5)

There's really no maintenance to a REO. You can clean it up with isopropyl alcohol if you want and add a dap of noalox to the firing pin (included). It's mechanical, so nothing is going to break, unless you take a hammer to the button (and it might hold up anyway).

I can't stress the difference between a Pila charger and the others available. It's like comparing a glued plastic battery box with wires exposed to a REO.

I also have a mini, and although it's also great - there is some fiddling involved with it because the 3 ml bottles are small, and the batteries don't last as long. I am always grabbing the grand over the mini.

I know people get sick of hearing about REOs, but they are absolutely hassle-free consistent vaping, and easier and more enjoyable than smoking, which is something I never thought I would say. I was so frustrated with the whole process until I got the grand (a little over 3 mos. ago).

I'm still thinking though, for an elderly gentleman, prefilled cartomizers and an ego 1100 mah or something similar is the best way. This way he doesn't have to deal with filling the bottle of a reo, changing the batteries in it, charging the batteries in it, all that stuff. Just charges the battery and screws off/on a new carto.

What may be simple to you and others, may not be so simple to an elderly person. I.E., we log on to our computers, browse to this forum, and sign in (usually in that order, not always) all the time. Get somebody who's never used a computer, and yeah, have fun trying to talk them through all that. Sounds like Grandpa knows how to charge an "all-in-one" battery as I call it, and I'm sure he knows how to screw something off/on. But going through all the hassle of taking the bottle out, filling it, getting it back in the right way, making sure it's working, all that, might be too much for some older people. That's all I'm saying.

I agree with all you wrote. Pre-filled cartomizers would be the simplest solution if a person can accept that they only last so long and are then thrown away, and if they're able to afford them. A REO is still as simple, if not more so, than an eGo setup as far as charging and battery changing. The 6 ml bottle is easy to fill, but you do have to be able to get the tube inside and get it screwed on straight. If a person used pre-filled cartos on a REO with juice to extend their life, that would at least eliminate the carto filling process and keep the bottle filling to a minimum.

Please tell me where to sign up!

You already are just by being a member here ;)

If you win I think you should take us all on a cruise and we can all vape our Reo's together!

That's an even better idea!

eGo battery + eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer (EMDCC). The carto is massive and really does hold about 4.5ml of juice (which is well more than I go through in a day), the vape is consistent hit after hit, full of flavour, produces great vapor, and doesn't leak unless you overfill it. These are my go-to workhorses. I've got one on my Provari right now and there just isn't enough ... for it to kick. Even on my eGo it was fantastic.

This. I've been using them on a 900mAh battery for about a week - I top off the carto, swap out the battery and I'm set for the day.

In all seriousness, I would have been happy with a stock of high quality disposables.

Mine was made by Luci, but there are others out there such as the Square. 60 Squares would last about 90 days and would cost $335. It would be about the same cost as smoking for most, with no learning curve, and consistent satisfaction. Maybe that's where vaping will end up eventually.

Two things held me back: the cost and the waste.

Just looked up the dual coil cartos and saw that they are 1.6ohm, after reading more posts saw that the lower ohm rated cartos drain batteries faster, we have 900mah batteries, will this work through the day or will a day of medium vaping (fatherinlaw is a pack a day smoker)? Right now with a SR clearomizer the batt lasts about a day and a half, although I suspect he is starting to use it more and more...

I was also a pack a day smoker - I vape about 2.5ml a day on a 900mAh battery with an EMDCC using 24ml juice. Battery lasts me all day plus maybe an hour or so - I just top off the carto and swap out the battery when I get up in the morning and I'm set for the day. I did run one down all the way just to see how much reserve I had and the battery gave up about an hour after I got up in the morning - but I vape pretty heavily in the morning until my nic levels get where they need to be :D

Thanks everyone for all the advice.

Just to clarify, I taught my father in law how to refill his clearomizer (turn little rubber plug with pen or toothpick, fill with bottle, close plug, wipe down), how to clean it (wipe off batt threads and chamber, wipe off atty threads, knock out extra condensation from mouth piece.), and to keep a battery charging while using the other. That's kinda pushing his limits as far as " fiddling" goes but he's been keeping it up for about 2-3 weeks with no analogs, but he is starting to complain about the leaking, and juice going into his mouth.

I consider fiddling to be having to hold the ecig a certain way, having to prime the atty a certain way (specifically some mods I was reading about, advanced mods) etc.

Once again thanks for all the great advice!

I second this recommendation. I've tried quite a few setups with fair to horrible results. The dual coil cartomizer (got mine from Madvapes) and an eGo battery works great. Doesn't leak unless I put too much juice in (if it doesn't soak into the padding it will leak) and clouds of vapor.

The clearomizers / CE2 rubber plug often hold some juice on them (from the condensation). Try using a driptip, throw away the rubber mouthpiece plug. Much less hassle, no more getting juice in your mouth, no more getting a hot juice jump in your tongue too. :D
