Good luck to you SAG!! I agree with everyone here, take it at your own pace and don't get discouraged. My morning cig was that last one I gave up too. I did wean myself off somewhat, but I knew I had to make a conscious decision to quit, or I probably wouldn't ever do it. So I picked a day in the future and didn't worry about it (beyond reducing the number of cigs) until then. Just hang in there and keep trying, you'll make it!

I use 36mg for the TH. If I could get the same TH from 6mg or even 0mg I would in a second. The lower nic. level juices, in my experiences, just don't give me that TH. I wish I could find a juice with good flavor that had a good TH. Any suggestions?

Have you tried any mint flavors? I use the spearmint, and vape 11 mg. The vapor is amazing, and it's a great th that's nice and cool. I vape it almost all day, and it's definately my go to vape when I need a really hard hit (and can't crack open the tequila). :)

That's one drawback- I can't stand any type of menthol, spearmint, or cinn. I do understand the TH from mint flavors, I have some menthol tobbaco juice, I just can't get passed that mint flavor. Thanks for the suggestion. I have read something about a juice additive called Qhit. Anyone familiar with this stuff? Actually I think it's been discontinued.

bwg,add a little PGA (everclear) to a lower-nic juice and you'll increase the TH....sometimes also just adding plain PG to a vg-heavy juice can increase the throat hit...

to the op -- you've gotten a lot of great suggestions here, and I agree with all of them. Don't beat yourself up..if you stress over the fact that you're still having a few stinkies every day you'll have a hard time ever turning them loose. I started with 24mg but couldn't give up those last few stinkies...I upped my nicotine to 36 and just kind of "forgot"to smoke a stinky one day...now I think 30mg is my sweet spot.
Just keep a few cartos filled with some of every level on hand, and when you feel the urge to smoke an analog, grab a higher nic carto of your favorite flavor.
You can do it!

My take is different fom most. I quit analogs 3 days into E-cigs..had some side effects but nothing to write home about. I started on 18 and quicky dropped to 11mg. I can vape anything from 0Nic to 11mgs without problems.
What I think is that if you continue to smoke while you vape it makes it harder to do the switch. My hubby just can't do it. He will not stop smoking long enough to let vaping take over. Now of course all the damage is done, it would be worse for him to stress out on quitting then to leave things alone.
Good luck to you!

Sag, here is one more way to look at it and is also how I handled it. I didn't stop ciggies all at once. Be happy with 3 a day for a while. Give it a couple of weeks and then drop one of those, and so on until you are down to one. Then work on reducing that one to every couple of days or once a week. You will find that eventually you won't want that one either. Just don't stress over having a couple of cigs a day.

I smoked one in the morning, one late afternoon or after dinner, then one at bedtime. The last one I gave up was the morning smoke. Most likely I needed it most because of the many hours of sleep deprived nicotine. This coming August will be 2 years since I have taken a drag off a cig. Hang in there, you will get there. Just don't try to force it and think "oh no, vaping won't work for me". :)

excellent advice !!!!

Sag,
Don't beat yourself up over this! You are on the right road. Just look at what you are not smoking, then realize how far you have come.
I too was a heavy smoker and vaping since March, some days I need 3-4 cigs sometimes more but go back to 2-3 a day when the dust clears.
It is definitely a big adjustment and you will be fine.
BTW I stick with 24mg juice myself. You can order 36mg juice then cut it down a notch as needed.

Thanks Snow for the little "test".....I guess it's order time! I'll try the 36! Especially since there's nothing to lose if I can add pg or vg if it turns out too strong. My DH and kids are thrilled that I am not smoking anywhere near the amount that I was. I like the point that every analog not smoked is a good thing. Guess I kinda forgot to think that way and I like it!!! I'm gonna need a bigger purse!!! jk But I really do love this place!

I Did 24 + analogs for about 3-4 months a few years back.
This year i started to feel sick from the smoking for the first time ever & I went back to the 24
The 24 worked out well for a few weeks until I went crazy one day over-vaping & ended up last weekend with a case of nic poisoning.
I think it was the combo of a lot at once + not shaking my bottles & so the heavy nic got concentrated at the bottom.
I will caution everyone if you vape higher nic levels do dot go bonkers with the vaping.
The nic takes longer to get into the bloodstream & when it hits OH BOY it hits lol.

After this scare I went & bought some VG & I added it & cut it down to about 4-6 mg
So all week I have had terrible withdrawal symptoms, but I am gonna ride it on out.
It sucks, but it passes in a few min & vaping at such a low concentration means I can vape away all i like
& not be worried about too much nic.
I have some 6mg on the way probably tomorrow & i figure going through this nasty withdrawal
going from 24 to 6 will make life a lot easier to go from 6 to 0 in the future.

Hov, that's an amazing story. Kudos on your personal strength and determination. I've had rough patches, too. We all have. I just want to mention a couple of things that helped me lower my nic. Choosing strong flavs, above all. Certain menths, mints, and coffees, for instance. Also, doing what you're doing--adding more VG. As a guy who's experimented a fair amount with both PG mixes and pure VG, I find that VG has a noticeably heavier texture and base taste. At least to me. Some folks like it, some less, but VG brings back some element of cig days for me. I think it's the heaviness of the vape itself. Worked great for me during the early quits.

Anyhow, good luck to you. Keep us posted.

Like has already been said...don't stress over it. Its easier to tell yourself that you are delaying gratification, easier than thinking that you are completely giving up gratification.

Supplement yourself at first...space the stinkies out. Soon you will find that you can space them out so much you won't need them. Same with lowering nic - use the lower nic as your regular vape and keep the higher nic ready for when you need it. Soon you will need the higher nic less and make the switch again. Then you'll vape the lower nic for awhile and eventually be ready to cut again.

I started at 36mg maybe two years ago...now I'm at 1mg to 3mg regular vape and I have a couple bottles of 6 for times of need, and even a 12mg I'll use once in a blue moon on a day that I'm stressed or spacing out vaping sessions. But I just got there naturally without really pushing it.

I don't see going below 1mg because, even though there probably isn't much difference between 1 and 0, if there is 1mg in there I can still tell myself I'm enjoying some nic - whether it's true or not.
