Yes, that turns filterkeys off alright, but for some reason using the 8 second shift key activation also causes caps lock to become stuck on, and there's no checkbox for that. I have never understood this, and it always causes me to reboot.

The upside: this won't happen again until I reinstall windows, as I have disabled the appropriate accesibility option.

I have a feeling, however, that this hasn't been my last bout with filterkeys... it always seems to strikes when I least expect: whenever I stop to think just as I am about to type an uppercase letter when I haven't yet done so since last reinstalling XP.
