There is a secret to achieving an earlier break even date..........

Be sure to include everything, and I mean everything in your calculations! Not on what you spend on vaping, but what you actually spent on smoking. It's not just the cigs! For example.........

I live in a fairly cold climate at least for 4 months of the year and did not smoke inside for the last 20 years. That calculates to putting on a winter coat an average of 20 times each and every day, a total of approximately 2,400 zips and 2,400 unzips. As I found, that tends to wear out zippers resulting in the cost of coat or zipper replacements. While not a substantial amount, an additional cost of smoking. Now, if you can come up with enough of these additional costs, and I have, you'll meet that break even date much sooner..........or justify another mod purchase.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'll run out and get that early Christmas present I promised myself since I already hit my break even point!

Not to mention all the doctor and drug bills....

No issues here, after 1 year vaping. I haven't actualy done the math. I know, I have spent less than $300 on Gear, for both me and wife, in the last year and no more than $80 a month on juice. I was spending MORE than $300 per month smoking, $6 per day or more. Even I can see that is at least a 60% savings. It's easy to save money if you avoid buying toys.

I say screw shinyitis....the money i am saving from not smoking doesn't go into more gear it goes into shortening my mortgage payoff date. I would much rather pay my house off early then have a shelf full of mods and stuff sitting around collecting dust.

Took me about a year to break even after going though the "I'm a collector" phase. Now I am way way ahead.

I would much rather pay my house off early then have a shelf full of mods and stuff sitting around collecting dust.

Amen to that!

This is likely to be the case for me. Unlike cigarettes which are dirt cheap here, good wine is prohibitively expensive. A decent bottle is at least USD 10-15 and not snoking is definitely lowering my wine consumption. I used to go through maybe 4-5 bottles per week and now reduced to two, so that could be a bigger saving. That's at least 100 dollars/month!

He! Clearly I am not the only one who has over-spent. It may well taper off for me too. Just wish I could find something to replace at least some of my high-end juice consumption. It would also help as vermillion river is really tough to acquire in bulk (most vendors in Europe and Asia sell only 10ml bottles). The reason I really want the subbox is 1. Testing whether some of the more 'meh' flavours get better on sub (I found this to be the case in my brief interaction with the Ego One) and 2. Learning to rebuild coils on a tank which does both. I reckon this could save me a nice penny over the long run.
But I may well be kidding myself :)
