I posted a thread about this a day or two ago but cant find it and am worried it went away from no one posting on it so heres my problem, my vamo says "short" when i push the firing button. It doesnt matter what battery or what atty is on it or even if there is no atty on it, it reads ohms perfectly on all my tanks and reads my batts perfectly, but when i push that button it says "short" why does it say that and has anyone experienced that?

You say that you accidentally shorted it with two18350's and ask about 5 amps. When you accidentally shorted it, did you fire it?
Did this difficulty begin immediately after this accident. Where is this 5 amps coming from?

I suspect the circuit inside is burned. There is a fet inside that pulses the current from the battery, these can take quite a lot of current, but if there is a short and the device is fired, the battery can and will supply enough current to destroy the fet.

I had 2 IMR 18350 batts in it at the time, it was set to 6 volts, and i had my palm over the fire button while i was putting on my a9, i accidentally squeezed down on my hand as the a9 slipped from my hand and kinda bounced for a sec otop the 510 connection (maybe i think this is how it made a short connection and its the only thing i have to go on lol), after that its said "short" ever since no matter what i put in it or on it. Thank you @ Choc_Addic i dont know how to find threads yet that are mine lol.

It is possible that the rubber insulator that separates the positive center pin on the 510 connection has broke. Which would allow the negative pin to touch the positive threads and cause a short. Did you try firing without an Atty? If it says short without an Atty attached then that might be the problem. But its also possible that it only happens with an Atty screwed on to push the pin down.

Ya i tried that, if the pin is touching it says "low load" or if any short happens in the vamo it simply says "low load" this is something else that i have found nowhere on the internet i have spent the last 14 hours purly searching the internet for the same situation and nothing remotely close has shown up. If only the manufacture knew what it means when you try to fire it (with out without an atty) and it simply says "short" because if an actual short happens the vamo will say "low load"
