Does anyone have issues with their local stores and a lack of customer service??

I just found a great new place called Coexist Vapor in Richardson.. I found them just off of Campbell Road and I-75.. I had to look for it but it was worth it.. In the middle of Double Tree Hotel and Metro bank and right behind the Burger King.
I met the owner Melissa. A guy name Quin*** talked with me for about 1/2 hour and got me just what I needed.. I found my perfect juice.. it was so new they had not even named it yet.. They told me they wanted their customers to decide on what to carry...
First time I had found a place that wanted to carry what I wanted and needed.. I'm impressed...
I decided on buying a NEW and not a clone of a Chi You..

I have two local B&M's that are also popular websites: madvapes, and Smoke Less for Penny's. The people at both are really REALLY nice. They are nice and knowledgeable. Never had a problem. I'm sorry for your difficulties though.

Idk, ive been to a local place a couple times theyre fairly nice people, however......their knowldege leaves something to be desired, ok so they started out as a "smoke shop" ( and still basically are that ), i think they are cashing in on the new vape "craze" and thats about it, i only go to them for things like a few clearos or misc items, nice people, but not knowledgable, and looking for a quick buck...thats my take on one of the local joints lol

I'm here in silicon valley and there are only 2 vape shops I can find. Very nice people there and they know what products they have. Thats not saying much as they don't have much in the way of selection. Everytime I go to this one shop there is a lineoften out the door. I wait to be served 20 plus minutes. Thank god they have a water cooler so you can get a drink while you wait. The other thing is the markup is crazy at least 3 times what I would pay online I'm not talking china prices I'm talking us 3 day deliver. Now I just look at the stuff they have to see what I want and find it online. And the 10ml juice is 6.99 omg! Now I diy for .79 a bottle plus I make the xxxxxhigh nic level I know and love.

The vape stores here in Denver are very helpful. I shop 4 different stores regularly and they are always helpful and willing to answer any questions. They will let you sample juice look at anything you want.

My favorite here in York PA is called one step above. Great people, great service. If I'm looking for a new juice the will open a cheap clearo and fill it up. I often just stop in to see what's new. But on the other side of the coin I have been to some really crappy B&Ms too.

I have a feeling that my problem might be kind of unique. I live in Puerto Rico most of the year, and there is a serious lack of stores that sell any vaping supplies. I dropped in one of the two tobacco shops that I know about in the San Juan-metro area, and their selection was very slim. My friends and family on the mainland-US (PR is a US territory) are very surprised. Vaping has just not taken off in PR.

Before purchasing my own set-up, I did a lot of research including asking my (university) students about their experiences with e-cigs. One student told me that his father uses a disposable, but not a single student has used one! In the 13-years that I've been in PR, I've noticed that many things/products that are popular in the states never catch on (don't get me started on the need to buy my K-Cups online!). It's not that PR residents wouldn't like these things, but retailers never stock them and give people a chance. It's very frustrating, but I've become a savvy internet shopper!

Fortunately, I've had very good experiences with a bunch of vaping e-tail sites--most if which I learned about on ECF.

I have found two shops one is great lets u do all the testing u want and always talks about the new stuff and the things they use and sometimes its off the internet. but one store i checked out was full of 20 somethings and didnt want anything to do with a 40 something very rude... I got more help from one of the customers then the staff.. so i guess its hit or miss! And the rude store looks like they only sell ego sets and i would love to step up to a mod. Ill just have to see what my nice store can do for me price wise cuz i love to support a nice new shop.

Go to OKC Vapes on 50th and Portland. Very friendly and helpful good juice selection. They only have some custom mech mods. They carry Mr E-Liquid. They also own Norman Vapes on Lindsey and 24th and Edmond Vapes. Have not been to that location but I imagine its good too.

My nearest B&M store is 30 minutes away. Very limited selection, generic juice ('peach', 'tobacco', 'cinnamon', etc.) for $6.99/10mL (reduced from $9.99/10mL). No sampling of juices.

On the bright side, the people are friendly. But the clerks that have helped me have no idea what they're talking about. I've had to explain the difference between top-coil/bottom-coil and they had no idea what an 'atomizer' was.

On my last visit, they had a $13.00 FastTech Bolt clone that they were willing to sell me for $59.99!!!

THE CLERK DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY REQUIRED BATTERIES!!!!!!

I have been to 3 local stores in the DFW area. Got super service from 2 and will not go back to 1 as their customer service just plain sucks, it is Vaporescence in Richardson. The other 2 (DFW Vapor and Wicked Hot Vapor) have been super. Customer service is a dying art here in the US, have to appreciate when experience it and hit it hard when otherwise. Without customers, businesses close down.

We have vape shops popping up all over. The problem for me is that they all sell knock off goods that are self branded or called something similar to their real name. Inferior quality at prices double the "real" name brand.
The people are mostly nice but I know a lot more than any of the ones I have met. Hey, I have learned a lot reading here but I still don't know jack compared to some/ most of the folks here.
I would pay a little more for a local B&M but I want quality.

I called a store about their flavor of the day, they didnt have it in the nicotine level i wanted. was told they could make it, told them i would be in about 3 hrs, i get there and i was not even ready.

If you're ever in Denison The Vape Escape just opened a new store there. I haven't been there but have been to their other stores. The staff is super friendly and willing to answer questions. You should check them out. They make their juice in-house and warranty their batteries

It really doesn't take all that long to figure out if a vape shop is a good one or just an oversized mall kiosk.
There are no less than 6 vape shops within 5 miles of my home. Each has it's own personalities which are subject to change as employees seek other opportunities. I just figure that on the spot CS is subject to 'side of the bed', pms, and other intangibles. They are, after all, just people trying to earn a living. It's the quality of the products, and the overall CS, not an isolated incident, that makes a vendor a good one.

Personal opinion:

Vaping, whether we like it or not, is part of the technology industry, and includes computer, camera, cell phones, stores, etc. These stores attract employees who know a little more than the customer, but are eager to impress with their superiors knowledge. Some stores guard against such attitudes, others seem to promote it.

Keep shopping. You will find a store that appreciates your business.

I'm here in Austin, Tx and I have had some mediocre experiences as well as sine great ones. I think the ones who go above and beyond will be the ones who remain open once the b&m store bubble bursts. We have waaaaaay to many shops here. There are about 4 within 5-6 miles of where I live and this city is huge.

We have a ton of stores here in Salt Lake City. For the most part the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable but I have had a few horrible experiences. I have only been vaping for about 2 weeks now but still know more than some of the people who run the stores. I understand an employee that is new and still learning but some are just arrogant. Had a guy get a little frustrated with me because I didn't believe him when he told me the coils for the CE4 would work with my iClear 30. Had to take my iClear 30 out of my pocket and show him why it would not work.

A lot of folks are opening shops who shouldn't. They get interested in vaping, it's a hobby, they think "gee it would be great to make this my job, and I know how to get stuff cheap". So they open a store, having no understanding of what it takes to operate a business.
They hire their friends. They are under-capitalized. They won't be there long.

Hopefully, you can find one with a better operation!

There is a lot of issues to consider, some places, like a smoke shop where you can also get vape gear, they may be upset that vape is talking away from their tobacco cash cow, or my simply ignorant and uninformed about their gear and don't want to be caught stupid. The people that own or work for just vape gear vape shops, seem to be more on top of their game, and more informed and friendly. I do most of my shopping online and find most support staff and modders, to be very friendly and helpful. But you can always find rude people in every industry too.
