But when it comes to "modding" these devices" the advice given is nearly always wrong advice. I'm not saying the devices are flawed i'm saying the modding advice is.

Just because the advise did not work for you does not make it rubbish. It worked for the person that posted it. Otherwise they wouldn't have done so. Not everything will work for everyone. Everything is subjective and everyone has different tastes and needs when it comes to these devices and how they work.

I have tried a few things recommended and not all of them worked for me. Does that mean I am going to come back and claim they are purposely trying to mess me up? No, I'm going to come back and look for some more advise stated that the said way of doing a thing did not work for me.

i would like to see a post where you were advised to remove the wick without putting something
back in its place

Oh seriously i've read it in a few threads. They say take the wicks out n flip the cap. To me the makers got it right and the components are there for a reason. This device works perfectly. No need to mod them at all. But i cannot point you in the direction of where is it though. But it is here.

... How is someone supposed to know if the advice they are being given is sound and not something that has been invented for fun. ...

Welcome to the Modern World of Forum Life.

I for one think the ECF does a Good Job in Moderating for Spam or Offensive Posts. Aside from that, I don’t think it is their job to Read Every Post and then decide if it is Good Advice or Not.

That responsibility should be left to the Reader.

I don't think anyone here would deliberately steer anyone in the wrong direction just for their own amusement. I think most everyone here is here to help in any way they can. I also think if you are very new to vaping, and vape gear you shouldn't be doing any "MODDING" till you know alittle more about the item and what your doing. When you mod anything you are always taking the chance your going to muck it up, so the responsibility is on the user as your making changes to the original equipment. First rule of thumb for newbies, "If it works, dont try to fix it!!! Just my :2c:

Advise is exactly that, advise. It's up to the reader to either take that advise or not. If the advise works, great. If not, don't use it. It sounds as though you're looking for concrete facts. If that's what you seek try reading the manufacturers operating manuals. And as someone previously stated, membership to this forum is completely voluntary.

I was simply pointing out that when someone asks for advice from any random person then they don't have a reason to take that advice seriously. But some poeple don't consider that and take it anyway. And if someone wants to have a laugh by giving unsuspecting people bad advice there is nothing stopping them. Point is a whole load of other people will read it too. So let me ask you, have you read any advice in this forum that wasn't in any way valid ?.

But then there would be a giant buildup of threads full of dodgy instructions or flawed information that everyone will read sooner or later. Think about new members and what they think when they read these posts. Is ecf going to end up being full to the brim with useless information.

Ecf will end up being full of threads with useless information which is no use to anyone. That's the point

My theory is if you are concerned about getting Bogus information from Stranger when you ask a Question on a Forum, Maybe you should Not Ask Question on a Forum.

Problem Solved.

I agree with the OP. We need one of those nice government agencies to come in & keep us straight.

Good Point.

I'm a Strong Believer in letting other People decide what is Best for Me. And taking No Responsibility of doing my Own Research or Checking to see if an answer could be Wrong.

That just still goes agains the grain for me. Best if you suspect something go ahead and do a follow up post and say so yourself if you want to protect people who dont know any better and that would make you feel better. No harm in that really. Most people know they can take it or leave it here
