Does KangerTech make tanks that aren't garbage?

Seriously. I've been vaping for a few months and started off with a disposable wick tank that came with the base, then moved to an iCloud9 tank a while later. That thing worked fine. It produced a good vapor, parts were easy enough to replace, and it wasn't a serious investment. Couple days ago, the tank "glass" came loose from the base and started leaking, so I went over to my local vape store and decided to try a KangerTech T3'D tank. To say it leaks a lot is an understatement. I've gone through 6 ml trying to get the thing to work. It drains out the bottom to the point that the battery base no longer functions due to it thinking there's a mechanical error. It bubbles up the top so much that my mouth is numb from globs of liquid that ooze up out of it. And it barely produces any vapor at all, that being so harsh and burnt tasting that I decided to go buy a pack of cigarettes to keep me from snapping while I try to fix this. I've learned long ago that vaping is NOT like smoking, and have taken to the methods of hitting a PV quite well. As far as fixing this, I've looked around online, but there's nothing anywhere relating to a T3'D. Plenty of instructions for fixing older models that seem to all revolve around just happening to have all sorts of old/spare vape parts laying about, as well as various tools and other stuff that should be COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY for a brand new out of the package tank. Is it just that Kanger produces utter garbage? Should I never buy another Kanger product again (I very highly doubt I will regardless of what comes of this thread)? One would think that if you're producing a starter/inexpensive product for a newcomer to a concept, you'd make it a reliable. As far as I've been able to determine anywhere online, Kanger is basically a huge insult to the public that should be reported to the BBB or somesuch. Was I simply "had"? Or is Kanger just that inept? And if that's the case, why are they even still around?:mad:

I have quite a few Kanger tanks and haven't had problems with any of them - well, except for the time I forgot to put the o-ring back on the base before i put it back together after cleaning. Tell us a little more - what base are you using? Ego, spinner, MPV, etc? What juice? did you take it apart, and if you did, did you make sure everything was back on and tight before using? Maybe we can help.

Kanger makes plenty of good stuff. I started on their evod2 clearomizers and they were foolproof.

Generally speaking I only ever hear bad things about the T3D T2D etc tanks.

You may be better off getting one of Kanger's Aerotank Mini's that recently came out. I haven't tried one personally, but I have heard so many great reviews of it that I'd feel pretty safe recommending it.

Hope it works out.

Welcome to ECF!

I had the same issue happen with an Aerotank Mini... It was surprising, as I have never had it leak before! Then I realized that I had replaced the coil head with an older single coil instead of the newer double coil units. Leaked unbelievably, until I pulled out the coil I had just installed and compared it to the one I had removed... Another point to consider is whether or not everything is tightened too much? As counter-intuitive as it may seem, too tight causes almost as much leaking as not tight enough!

Hope you find your solution here!

Wow. Rapid replies! Cool.

I'm using a Vision base with a 3.3 to 4.8 volt range. So far I haven't modded the tank at all. I took it apart to see if maybe there was a flaw somewhere on an o ring, but didn't note anything. I had seen somewhere that perhaps I had things screwed together too tight, so I've played around with that. A "not quite fully tight" position seemed to help very very slightly, but not enough to really be noteworthy. It seems that if I hit VERY weakly and slowly (like, so weak and slow that I feel lightheaded by the time I inhale), I can actually prevent the leakage to an extent, but then the coils are getting super-heated. This obviously results in a nasty burned taste that leaves an acrid feel to my throat.

It could be that the o-rings were damaged from overtightening... It's been known to happen before. I hate to recommend spending money as a solution, but I have only read bad things about the T3; I have had excellent experience with the Aerotank Mini (using the S/S tube, not the glass) and quite good with the Protank 3 (although I find it a little more "airy" a draw than the Aerotank. I also use an Aerotank Mega and also find it quite good (although I wish the air-control ring would have some kind of stop to keep it from rotating right around!)

Just thought about another thing and don't be insulted; could you be keeping your hand inadvertently over the air intake? I do that all the time (depending on the battery it's attached to, the threads don't always line up ideally!)

I'm only 4 weeks into vaping. Like you, I started with a wick tank that came with a starter kit. It wasn't long before I bought a Kanger EVOD from the local ecig shop. That thing is crap. It's constantly leaking onto the battery and I have to remember to dry hit it about every 3rd puff or I get a nasty dry hit. Somehow, miraculously, I went to a different local shop and they recommended the EVOD2. I was skeptical (considering my experience with Kanger), but the EVOD2 has performed well. No leaks, good puffs, no dry hits... just what I expect it do. After talking to the guy at the store and from what I've read on here, it seems like there's not much quality control going on at the factories. Seems like it's hit or miss. I think next time I buy a clearo, I'm going to test it out at the store before walking out; taking several puffs and checking for leaks and possible issues. Good luck on your next purchase.

Thanks iamthevoice, for the recommendations. I suppose I'll head back over to the store after work today and see about upgrading. I think they had a couple Aerotank Minis behind the counter. No way they'll give me trouble after a minute or two of them trying to make this thing work right. :)

I had problems with covering air intakes early on, but I learned to basically treat the whole rig a flute and barely touch it, so that hasn't been an issue. It's looking more and more like the T2s and 3s are just fatally flawed in some way. But it does seem the 3 is an improvement. Maybe by the time they reach a 5 or 6 series they'll have a product worth the time. lol.

My simple answer to the thread question is Yes. I've had good experience of the EVOD clearomisers, and the PT2 I'm currently vaping doesn't even leave a dewdrop on the connector post, unlike every single one of my Innokins. Clearly the OP has a rogue unit, maybe a clone, but I hope he doesn't forever turn his back on Kanger, because they have made and will make some very good stuff.

I think your post is a little bit much for a new vapor. Calling the BBB, calling Kanger garbage, etc.I've owned the Evods, Protank Mini and Protank and never had a problem with any of them. Kanger has a good reputation on this forum and yes there are issues reported.

The Kanger T3 has been discontinued and replaced by the T3S. Are you sure they sold you a Kanger tank and not a Kanger clone? Really a lot of ranting for a $6.00 clearo IMO.

Well pardon me Speedracer for being new to a system and being had by shat quality product almost from the get go. I'm pretty sure it's a real Kanger tank, considering it has their logo and name on it and came in their packaging with their name on it. Everything I've seen online regarding this specific tank seem to point to it being garbage, so good thing it was discontinued I suppose. Perhaps they do have good products, as I'm hoping to find when I swap out later today.

You might try NOT coming off as a condescending d-bag when addressing new vapors/members.

The T3 and MT3 were epic fails from the word go.

The evods and early Protanks has some potential, let down by atrocious QC on the coils.

I took 4 apart once (after the 1st of the 5-pack was useless)... I could have made better coils in the dark after 10 shots of Vodka...

The coils are still hit and miss, even to this day. However, put a good homemade coil in a Protank 2 with an airflow controller.... and you have a piece of classic vaping equipment. Hard to beat....

Basically though... yes... they can be variable.

I use mini Protanks day in, day out. A factory head either leaks or tastes burnt within 5 hours... so you have to rebuild them :)

Whether you have 4 posts of 14,000 posts I would have replied the same way. I suggested it might be a clone as some do have issues. Saying I'm a condescending d-bag with new members makes me laugh and you look immature. I suggest you reread your post and see how it appears.
