Does Nic Content Affect Flavor?

The thread title says it all.:toast:

The reason I ask, is I recently got some prefilled cartos from a highly respected vendor. I have yet to find any negatives written in these forums about them or the flavors they offer.

Yet, in the rather large assortment of flavors I received (15 different flavors), not a single one tasted good at all.

The content? 36mg, which I know to be in the upper limits of safe. Even some flavors that I enjoyed from other manufacturers at 24mg were awful at 36mg.

So, in short, does nic content affect flavor, or is it just possible that my palette isn't fond of the flavors?

Thanks ECF!

I would say yes to your question as I bought a no nic doubler from a well known supplier and a 48mg of the same flavor. The no nic tasted different by itself but when I poured equal parts to make 24mg the flavor was different (better) and also the throat hit showed up due to the nic that was added. Seems to me the flavor was weak without the nic and also a little different in flavor taste.

Interesting question I have been wondering about myself. I also have a doubler and diluted 24mg with it to experiment with using a little lower nic level. Does not vape the same as the 24mg I did not dilute with the doubler.
The 24mg is 20% vg, the doubler is 10% vg which should mean I have a 12mg at 15%vg.
I so enjoy all the 36mg of other flavors. I wonder if it is the nic, the vg, the doubler, or different batches.

I've found them to have a different aftertaste...

The higher the nicotine, the sharper the taste...36MG is like smoking a Marlboro Red, where as I find 11MG is basically like a hooka taste...

Flavor the same...Just the throat high changes for me...

I prefer 24MG due to the hit, but think the smoother taste of 11MG is also appealing...

depends on my mood, i guess.

I also prefer VG based as it's a tad sweeter...

Nic can affect flavor yes - I find it leaves a slight peppery aftertaste and the TH of course is more with higher nic and that will affect your ability to taste the flavor if your ideal nic level is lower. If higher nic is something you normally enjoy without issues then it wont affect the taste as much - its all relative :)

Not all flavors are good.
Everybody is different. I can't handle menthol. The one coffee flavor I bought tasted nothing like coffee. I ruined an atty with clove flavored liquid.
I hear the Pizza e-juice is fantastic!...but I'm not going to buy that just yet.
I suggest getting hold of a small bottle of RY4 at 24 mg and see how you like it. It's about the most popular. It's sort of tobacco and caramel flavored. Very easy on the palate.

Which reminds me...how long have you quit analog cigs? It take a little while to get your sense of taste back to normal.
It could be only the bad tastes are getting through with your cartomizers even though something good tasting may be present. Time will tell.
