Does nicotine content affect juice flavor?

I have read somewhere in the ecf that nicotine content may affect the flavor of juices. I am getting worried as i have an order coming soon where i lowered the nicotine content from what i previously vaped. Im worried the flavor may not be as good.is there a way for me to increase the nicotine content properly? I have no experience with diy.thank you

I am not versed in DIY juices but the nicotine itself is sweet so sometimes at lower nic dosages the flavors will be muted. If you are ordering juice from a supplier that allows it, you could ask for more flavor. The best rule of thumb when lowering doses is to order a small bottle (or sample) in the lower dose to see if it's different. I also know that juice manufacturers are different and some may compensate for that change in flavor automatically by adjusting the flavoring in the juices at lower nicotine levels.

I guess taste buds are different ;) ... I vaped Watermelon by Highbrow Vapor in 18mg and in 8mg. While the flavor is essentially the same in both strengths, it is definitely stronger and much sweeter in the 18mg composition. This was a side by side comparison (and only 1 example of this happening) in the same brick and mortar store.

I had ordered Vanilla from a supplier online that I had been ordering Vanilla from for 2 years in a lower nicotine dosage and it was the same thing, less flavor. As the vendors have explained to me, Nicotine is naturally sweet and will enhance flavor at higher dosages, drop the dosage and the flavor of the juice changes slightly.

I am not a DIYer of juice so I could be wrong. Just kind of parroting what I've been told by a few vendors I have talked to when noticing flavor changes at lower nicotine levels.

It definitely affects the flavor. I purchased a bottle of 36mg root beer flavor and I could hardly taste the root beer because the peppery taste of the nicotine overpowered it. I've since lowered to 18-24mg, 24mg has more buzz but 18mg tastes a lot better. Lower nicotine juices taste better but they don't have as much buzz or throat hit as higher nicotine juices. Higher nicotine juices are better for occasional vapes and lower nicotine juices are better for all day vapes.

Thank god for the search function! Just found this thread as I was curious over how it may effect taste. I am thinking of increasing the nicotine levels I vape, ( I know...opposite of what most do!)... as I was a 1.5 pack a day smoker ( Marlboro lights or special blends) and have been vaping 11mg or 12mg but still find I crave more nicotine..... I've tried some 18mg and my brother said I sound like I'm "tweaking" on it...LOL.....just ordered some juices in 18mg to try...

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread!

I'm quite stuck with 16mg juices, but some time ago I made a test with PSV Bikini Martini. That juice with 0mg and 16mg tasted almost the same, but the critical thing was the throat hit - or lack of that. With the 0mg juice there was actually no throat hit, although the taste of the juice was quite similar with the 16mg version. No doubt, which one I do prefer:)

I went from 18 mg. to 24 cause the 18 just wasn't doing it for me, the throat hit is stronger but as far as taste I still can't taste that well
since I still smoke and have for a long time. Hoping the 24 will help. Don't understand how people can be so fussy about flavors when they all taste better to me than cigs do! Wish I could distinguish flavors better at this point.

I smoked quite strong menthol cigarettes for 31 years. When I switched to e-cigs almost 11 months ago, I used (and really needed) strong flavoured e-juices. I guess it was because of my smoking years... The case was not only the amount of nicotine: it was proven that 16mg was enough, but the flavour had to be strong.

When months bassed by, I switched from strong menthol juices to more gentle fruit and berry juices. But still, the juices had to be 16mg all the time. If they were not, I felt like getting nervous. So, I guess I became more sensitive with different flavours after quitting smoking.
