Its not silly if U have paypal claim for $200-$300 for damaged or lost in shipping mods and they refuse to refund you because you bought ecigs that are prohibited in Ebay and PP official written policies...its not common , but it happens...just like buying weed or anything else prohibited...U may get away with it 100x but just 1x get burned and pay the consequences, and think differently...the whole intention of my posts is to let ppl know the legality...what U choose to do is your business...I use Ebay AND PP all the time for ecig purchases with no problems, but that doesn't mean I never will have a problem and pay the price and lose my money or my account....there is a reason that legit US vendor don't accept Paypal..

Hopefully this will put an end to this debacle...
"October 2009: PayPal freezes accounts of electronic cigarette vendors in the U.S. and prohibits them from using the service; however, vendors outside of the U.S. are allowed to continue using PayPal for electronic cigarette sales.

Yup - just checked the terms and conditions for use of PayPal to purchase E-Cig related items, no restriction in the UK that I could spot.

Will be keeping an eye on this in case that changes however, as PP is my "preferred" method of payment. Been stung too many times with Debit Card/Credit Card fraud in the past - probably my fault for being careless in the past, but I do hope to be able to continue using PP for a while to come!!

Ive asked about buyer protection etc too, but ive used them good few times with no probelm but havent had to make a cliam yet so would be good to know if I am covered as my bank gives buyer protection which might be better if I buy some costly mods down the line lol. :):):):):)

You're safe...and lucky. The main reason that PP stopped N. American Vendors from using their service was because ASH (Action on Smoking and Health- the U.S. Office) claimed that PP could be legally liable for any Ecig health related legal claims. At the time ASH was a powerful ANTZ grouip and was hellbent on a total ban of the Ecig.
On the other hand ASH.U.K is "relatively" pro Ecig:
"In the UK smokefree legislation exists to protect the public from the demonstrable harms of secondhand smoke. ASH does not consider it appropriate for electronic cigarettes to be subject to this legislation."

Thanks for the links Vapoor eyes er - it was a very interesting read.

I like

"The fact that e-cigarettes look similar to conventional cigarettes has been said to risk confusion as to their use in public places, such as on public transport. However, given that the most distinctive feature of cigarette smoking is the smell of the smoke, which travels rapidly, and that this is absent from e-cigarette use, it is not clear how any such confusion would be sustained. Furthermore, the absence of risk from “secondhand” inhalation of vapour from e-cigarettes has been described as an “often unconsidered advantage” of e-cigarettes.
As an alternative to smoking, e-cigarettes are preferable in situations where secondhand smoke poses serious health risks to others, such as in vehicles or in the home."

Not sure this will ever extend to places where smoking is currently banned, or in the workplace, but it's encouraging at least.

Paypal DOES not only enforce their Ebay policy against vendors but also against buyers, you the customer!...and does close down customer accounts and deny refunds in UK and USA customer disputes and claims against vendors FOR PURCHASING PROHIBITED ITEMS...there are many cases reported both in the USA and in UK of this from purchases made in China..

believe whatever U want, but U have been advised..

LOLLLL you're welcome...you're a $%#@& better off than us. I know also the Nudge Unit in the U.K. also stated they saw promise in the Ecig as a means to cut down on analog related health issues...Nudge Unit is VERY powerful and influential.

Fact is sometimes stranger than fiction. Let me ask this, how does paypal respond to purchases of firearms ?. I'm guessing there's no problems there right.

Only in america folks !

Given a pellet gun as Bday present when I was 10 and my first shot blew the head off a Robin. Never picked up another gun.

I have just had my first problem with PayPal. They sent me a message advising me "a dispute had been ruled in my favour & I was being refunded for my purchases" The item was e-tanks. Then I got a message from Ebay where I bought the item that "these items were on a restricted list for importation into Australia. Well firstly, I didn't lodge any dispute, I'm still waiting for the order & as far as "restricted importation" goes, well that's news to me since I buy them all the time! Not only is this not true these so called "restricted" items are available over the counter at your local tobacconist! Well the truth is that the sale of nicotine, a registered poison is restricted & the Australian Government is doing a 12 month review on the benefits (or not), of E-Cigs. They probably won't stop the sale or importation of e-liqs until the review is complete. Nicotine is for sale to adults now at tobacconists & pharmacies so I hope there will be no change. The results may also affect whether they are actually put on the PBS (Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme). If it's found they are a good method of getting people off cigarettes. After all, other aids have been put on the PBS such as Zantac & even Nicobate, (nicotine patches), ((albeit only to Aboriginals)). Although recently the Supreme Court of Western Australia has banned the importation of E-Cigs & related products but the ban only applies to retailers , not consumers. I've been told this has caused the closure of several e'cig outlets in WA (just what we need, more job losses!) After doing some research it seems 99% more likely that PayPal is the party who cancelled this transaction. Then why lie about it? If your going to be a sanctimonious proselytizer then at least be honest about it! It didn't work for Henry Ford! His experiment on his workers was a flop. I think if I was a big multinational company CEO (read Scott Thompson), with an objection to something I may well affect the flow of this product around the world if I could; but we are not talking about crack ....... or RPG's here! (why can't I type crack-kokane in here without it being edited out? It's not a cussword? do we have to rewrite the language removing all nouns now? I thought this site was for adults? Is this yet another case of "Net Nannies pervading free speech?) Anyway, E-Cigs have changed me from a 2 pack a day smoker to a 7 month cigarette free person. My health is vastly improved. My energy is up & I couldn't have done it without E-Cigs! I tried everything before & had given up trying. I am also a lot wealthier now & can spend more on Ebay & so make PayPal wealthier as well! I think it is best left to Governments to decide what their citizens can or can't do, unless the Government is a 3rd world Country & the rest of the world objects to what they are doing ; not CEO's who were educated in Catholic Schools! What next?, banning the purchase of The Koran or Adult Toys? The biggest hypocrisy of course is the fact that EBay which owns PayPal advertises for sale items PayPal won't process!! Perhaps the two CEO's John Donahoe & Scott Thompson don't see eye to eye?

All juice vendors I patronize - and all the others whose sites I've visited - take Paypal. In fact, I've just purchase 600 ml of VG base with nic using Paypal. It even says so in the Paypal invoice, so it's not like they couldn't tell. I'm in Europe though. Maybe they have a different policy in the US.

This sais, I only use Paypal once with any vendor I plan on buying from regularly, to see if they're honest and ship quickly. Once I'm satisfied they're good guys, I do CC or mail cash (a very small number of vendors, mainly one-man operations, accept that form of payment and like it very much, for obvious reasons). I hate Paypal with a passion, because back when they weren't eBay, they froze my account for no reason and stole the $300 I had left on it, without any explanation. So I use it as little as possible.
