This need to have my GGTS shiny ALL THE TIME, that is.

I'm getting kinda tired of polishing. Seems I have to polish the brass every other day to keep it shiny. I can't stand even a little bit of patina. Maybe I should trade for the full SS version, at least I wouldn't have to polish so much.

Just rellax mate, I don't even notice patina on my brass, it is just mat and I'm ok with it. Maybe once in a month is ok to polish it and steel just wipe with microfibre.

I doubt it. I must have shiny at all times. The SS version is very easy to keep shiny. Just wipe off w/a good microfiber cloth that you will carry around with you. Mine must look like this at all time or I am not happy. I was never like this until I got my first GGTS.

I must admit I am excited that my 008 with steel caps should be enroute. Should stay shiny between polishing a bit longer!

Well, I've aquired a SSGGTS from the classys with all the brass bits (and then some) 24k gold plated - that should end my days of endlessly polishing off the patina! ;-)

It passes for me all the time, every day as a matter of fact but only between 11pm till around 6am EST

Mine gets well used (038) it gets dirty in my shop, I've fumbled it more than a few times (I don't like to admit that.) I recently spilled white glue all over the button and endcap (whoops!) and everytime it cleans up brand new. It gets buffed every few months and there isn't a scratch on it

My GG gets used just as hard as all my handtools, but gets put away with love every night.

My dirty little secret is that I keep 091 nearly unused, and in pristine condition. But if I lost 038, 091 will just take it's place. We all find enjoyment in different aspects of our tools.

No the need for shiny never goes away. I have a philosophy about tools, and it applies to PV's too. A tool should be beautiful, it should make you want to pick it up and use it. If you want to use a tool, you will use it more, and master it sooner. The more you use a tool, typically, the more you enjoy using it... It's a vicious cycle...

Sounds like Rick has his own version of my 008! Be sure it too will be kept faithfully pristine on it's return but just because it is so special to me doesn't mean it wont get some work in!
