Nothing Jeff, if you polish correctly you really don't need anything. If you like you can use a Cape Cod but you're not achieving anything extra. Don't forget that correct polishing is in steps, first polishing then buffing and it's done with different wheels (materials) and different compounds. I polish my GG's with white compound (it's fine polish), then buff with talk powder and the finish is mirror.

Capt I picked up this buffer http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000T...bile?ref_=pe_385040_30332190_TE_M3T1_ST1_dp_1

And a set of wheels ,http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003JO38EE/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?ref_=pe_385040_30332200_TE_item

I already have all the compounds, green , white , red..

What wheel and compound should remove light scratches /scratches on the bottom which are the worst .

I understood polishing from this link. Check the table it summarizes everything.

Of course the captain has better insight.

Capt I picked up this buffer Neiko 2.35 Amp 6-Inch Bench Grinder Buffer with 2 Buffing Wheels:Amazon:Home Improvement

And a set of wheels ,Buff Wheel Set of 4 Six Inch Buffs -Buffing & Polishing:Amazon:Automotive

Jeff if the scratches are light (hairline) just use the white compound and the spiral sewn wheel to cut the scratches. Then use the loose wheel again with either the white or just talk powder to polish to a mirror finish.

A golden rule you must remember is never mix compounds on the same wheel

If you use white and then use red (which is coarser) on the same wheel, you can't go back to white because that wheel will only cut coarse since you put red on it. So one wheel for one compound
