After reading some of the threads on here, the health concerns posted scare me a hell of a lot more than anything the F.D.A. has put out. Does this hobby attract hypochondriacs or cause them?
I think a lot of new users seem more paranoid than they should be, but it's somewhat justified. We've been told since we were young that if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
Most of use think e-cigs are crazy-awesome and this invention definitely fits into the category of something that sounds simply too good to be true.
So with that in mind and since most tobacco quitters have smoked for a long time (and are typically older in age), any "new" condition is blamed on the most current changes in our lifestyle instead of placing the blame on more likely culpprits like the years (or decades of) smoking and simply just growing older.
I had the initial acne breakouts, but I could equally attribute that to my completely new (and healthier) diet. I've lost almost 30 pounds since I quit analogs (and I only have 12 more to go to hit my fighting weight). So maybe it's my dieting change, or the fact that I exercise now that caused the initial breakouts.
Though to be completely honest. I was willing to blame e-cigs at first. Now I look at it differently. I fully believe there is simply no way my health is going to get worse on these things. But, I can guarentee if I swapped back to cigarettes my health would deteriorate.
