Just to play devil's advocate.....do we maybe notice our morning breath more because we actually have a sense of smell now? Even while being a smoker I can remember waking up with whichever girlfriend of the time, have her kiss me and think to myself, "hmm..that's not so hot" if she didn't brush her teeth well the night before. Sure she was thinking worse about me.
Duno for anyone else, but I had a decent sense of smell when I smoked. The one thing I couldn't smell was cigarette smoke, or even other smokes so well.
I now have dog like super powered smell >< very annoying. I might just be hyper sensitive. My own voice hurts my head its too loud; everyone says I mumble.
But the only thing that makes me think its causing the bad breath is that before I had serious issues with people with bad breath when I smoked. I can usually smell what they had for lunch at dinner. If my sense of smell was broken while smoking, why would I smell theirs not mine?
I also still smoke 1-2 a day. I went a few weeks w/o any and no problem at all with the desire to smoke, just with affects of not smoking. It limits my nose from becoming way to much to handle, and headaches, and sleep problems.
I have to brush my teeth and feel like a shower after a normal cig. I seriously don't understand how the smell of cigarettes has changed so much for me. I used to absolutely love it. Even ashtrays used to be ok with me. They smelt stale, but still good.
