Does vapor leave any residue?

I'm just wondering if e-juice vapor leaves any residue from inhalation. I remember as a kid they used to show us a box and bag contraption that would inhale an analog cig and leave nasty yellow tar behind within the clear bag. I know e-juice is at least 90% safer compared to an analog, but has anyone tried doing an experiment like this before? I'm extremely curious to see the results, maybe I'll try to make something myself.

I took my reading classes off just now. Launched my 510 into overdrive, blew two BIG lungfulls of vapor right onto the left lens.

The lens fogged up (of course), then I blew on it so my moist breath would evaporate. Nothing was left .... no residue at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try it yourself! I tried to smear it with my finger....nothing!

Ok, I have to admit, I vape A LOT when I'm sitting on the forums... and my computer screen gets the brunt of the vapor.... and I have specks of discolored dots on it (mainly they look either black or yellow and are TINY)... I know what you're thinking, "but everyone said it hasn't done anything on theirs?!?!" It does leave dots on mine, but they wipe right off without leaving anything behind???? I'm not sure why this is, because if it was oil, I would think it would smear, but seriously, I can take a dry rag, wipe over it, and it's gone in one wipe... It doesn't bother me, because I CAN sit on the computer and vape, instead of going out into the cold to smoke.

OK, was going to clear this and not post, but my wife pointed out my stupidity... it's almost definitely dust, is probably sticking to my screen more now because when I vape, the moisture hits my screen, and the dust sticks more... ok, I feel dumb, but maybe someone will learn from it :)

Actually it does leave a little residue.
I vape in my car with the windows up and usually with the ac on pretty low, just enough to cool the car but very little air circulation so the windshield catches most of my exhales and over time (like a week or two depending on how much I drive) there is this clear white film that develops over the inside of the window. It's nothing bad or nasty really.. much better than the yellow film from analogs that's for sure. It's sort of like a really thin fog but sort of oily, it gets this rainbow like effect if the light hits it just right but it's such a thin film that it's not even really that noticable unless the light hits it just right or if you wipe part off and leave some behind. I don't think it's anything to worry about though, it's so thin that it can be wiped off without using window cleaner. Would take a pic just to show you (got a spot above the dash I haven't been motivated enough to strech to reach that would show the clean/unclean comparison fairly well) but it's dark outside and it isn't noticeable unless it's hit by a fairly bright light.

lol idk. Don't really care to be honest.
After making that post I got to thinking about a possible experiment.. sort of on topic.. what do you think..

When I was 13-14ish I found this clear glass tube thing, I think it had gone to some sort of nic-nack that was broken, can't remember now, but it was the perfect size to stick a cigarette in and smoke (yes I used it for a real cig.. not the "left handed" kind) and I thought it was funny, reminded me of those old movies where women use cigarette holders or whatever they were called. It was grand fun, until I saw the crud on the inside of the tube from smoking.. then I threw it out and tried not to think about it anymore.

I was wondering if I could find something similar (well..2) and have my roomie (who still smokes analogs) burn a few through one, while I simultaneously vape through the other... take some before and after pics.. show the results? I would think that the clear-ish film that shows on my windshield would also show on the little tube, but you'd also see all the yellow and brown crud on the one from the analog.

Anyone interested in the results or would it be a waste of my time to do it?

it's probably possible. Could also have something to do with the fact that I pretty much only vape very high juice (36 and sometimes even 48) maybe the extra nic has something to do with it. I would suggest it having something to do with the vapor's reaction to he AC but I doubt that because I've read elsewhere of it happening when someone blew vapor repeatedly on their bathroom mirror.

I think a lot of people on here as well as myself would be interested in a small experiment. Not on e-juice in general, but brands as well. I know there has been many people mixing and matching their own e-juice as well as foreign manufacturers making their own. I think we can come to the conclusion that e-juice does leave residue. I'm sure certain e-juices and flavors leave more than others, but which one is the best? We should start one on "which is the best e-juice with little or no residue with the best vaping results". I usually try to buy e-juice from known suppliers, however there are many people playing chemist in their rooms and that sort of worries me.

I don't have the money or the time to do such a large scale experiment as to compare all kinds of juice lol.. I'm just broke little ol me. But anyone wanting to expand on my idea for a larger test is welcome to it as long as I get to see the results :p

I have a friend that knows how to blow glass, I'll hit him up in the next day or so and see if he can make glass tubes for me for this experiment, considering they're going to have to be different diameters and everything (510 & Marlboro sizes)

By the way, another thought my bf pointed out a few moments ago when I was telling him that I was thinking of doing this experiment... He's curious of the oily rainbow/color in the film could have something to do with the colors of the juice it self. That might also be something worthy of testing. But again might be better suited for someone with a larger supply to test from?

I agree it would be expensive, maybe I'll contact certain reviewers who do have access to a lot of variations in e-juice. The glass tubes might be interesting though.

Yes, since eJuice is a mixture of liquids. By definition, residue is anything left when the main component is removed. In this case PG/VG being the main body since it is the solvent for nic and flavoring. So what could be left is either nic and/or flavoring. Which liquid gets left behind depends on which has the lowest vapor pressure.

nicotine : 0.0450036 torr @ 25 C
PG vp : 0.129 torr @ 25 C
