My dad quit smoking back in 93 (cold turkey), but he's super supportive of me vaping. He's pretty happy that both me and my wife quit together, and he bought her some gear and juice while she was staying with him (gotta let the grandkids visit ;)). He stated that he was a bit jealous that I got to quit and enjoy it more.

My dad passed on just a few years ago, so I never had the opportunity to introduce him to vaping. He was a cigar smoker and never wanted to quit, despite his heart condition. He always claimed he just loved the flavor, that he didn't inhale. When I first started vaping, I was checking out quite a few B&Ms in my area. This one place had a Cowboy tobacco flavor that tasted like a spot on cigar. My first thought was that I could have used this to help him. Although, he probably wouldn't have liked the "battery thing", either. lol. I miss him very much. I am a true Daddy's girl. I learned so much from him and the person I am today, was because of him. These stories are very much, touching my heart tonight.

My dad is long gone but know that he would have picked up vaping in a N.Y. second! Gadgets intriqued him. Never asked him the time 'cause you would find out how the clock worked! Ha! Both dad and grandpa would have loved it as a hobby. Their naval careers were spent in the engine rooms of ships and afterwards in any machine shop of any business they hired on. Yep, those two would have vaped had it been around then. :)

I've posted this a few times, so I apologize to anyone else who see's this multiple times.

My dad does vape. He has for 3 and a half months. He used to smoke 2 packs a day. He decided to start vaping because patches and gum didn't work. Chantix was a miserable failure. So I convinced him to try vaping and he hasn't looked back since. He doesn't vape whle barbecuing because he doesn't do that anyways haha.

My dad was a 2-3 PAD smoker for a long time. When I was in my teens, the doctor told him he had to quit and he quit cold turkey. This was some 30 years before e-cigs were invented. Every time he had the urge for a smoke, he would eat candy. We lost him to prostate cancer 12 years ago at the age of 86.

But I'm a dad....and I quit smoking by taking up vaping 5-1/2 months ago. And I vape while barbecuing.

Sorry to hear about your loss! I am glad that you are no longer smoking and vape now :) There is nothing better!

On this beautiful Fathers Day, we are looking for stories of dads switching to vaping.

How long has he been vaping? What made him decide to switch? Does he vape while barbecuing?

Pictures would be appreciated!

Nope, my dad does not vape. He doesn't really do anything at all anymore. He died last year.

It had nothing to do with smoking either.

But thanks for asking.

;)

My dad swore he was a life time smoker. He just knew from prior quit attempts it was never going to happen. He was done torturing himself trying.

Then I quit.
Then my wife quit with vapor also.

Then he got curious. "Lemme try this flavor", "no, I just wanna try yours".

When he finally switched, he was stubborn to the nuances. Choked more than necessary, didn't want backups and different flavors or my diy joose.

All that has changed. He vapes my diy almost exclusively. Which is how he's down to 2mg/ml. And he basically just does what he's told for the most part now. Of course he makes his own decisions in the long run, but he no longer refuses to try my suggestions and about does them immediately these days.

I'm sorry for all of those who have lost their fathers. Fathers day can be a very solemn day of remembrance.
It's important that we do everything in our power to keep ourselves alive, to be proactive about our health. Family comes first. Again, I'm sorry for your losses.
