One more thing, for me, vaping satisfies. (Halo Triton 12mg nic).

I mean, I had quit cigs 7 or 8 times, between 2 months to over a year in duration. But I almost always wanted a cig. Craved just one, and of course, would lead to my downfall.

But since Sept 24th, I have not craved the analog. In other words, For the first time since 1974, I have not wanted a smoke. And I've been near them, smelled them (things that would have derailed me before).

Yes, I've replaced one addiction for another, cigs vs Vape. And it's a good thing.

I hear ya Dave. I do not feel like I'm missing anything in the least. If anything, it's like a whole new world. All the flavor choices are PHENOMENAL! I mean, like with the analogs, there was only menthol, or non menthol. It's a wonder I didn't die from the monotony!

5.The reason I switched to using a PV is quite a personal experience. I lost BOTH of my parents to lung cancer. My Father died 26 years ago at the age of 51. My Mom passed away 2 years ago at the age of 69. I am an only child. I miss my parents terribly. I don't want my son, who is also an only child, to go through losing his Mom PREMATURELY. I have to stop typing now...very emotional.

Normally I keep things light and find myself LOL-ing while reading in our Halo forum but this just broke my heart. I'm so sorry for your loss CafeDigitalDiva and I'm sure we all share in that sentiment. I've come to think of the common forum posters in here as digital friends (corny perhaps but true) and so your pain is our pain to be sure. I lost my sister who took care of me as a kid to lung cancer back in 2008 so I feel for ya kid, I really do.

I'm not very religious but god bless kid.

GOOD LUCK! BTW, which school?? I filled it in next to your questions below:

I appreciate the help, Cinder!

My speech is November 25th, so I have a few weeks to collect your answers and plug some into my speech.

My Questions for everyone:

1. If you were an analog user: How long were you using analogs before you switched?
19 yrs

2. How long have you been using a PV without analogs?
See my banner below..over 90 days but can't remember. That's how much I DON'T think about cigs anymore!

3. Do you use both analogs and a PV?
NO! Only vape now and quit cigs a week before my banner date below but nicotine fits were driving me mad. All's good now! Started at 18 mg and already dropped to 16/12 mg

4. Economically speaking, how much have you saved using a PV compared to your old analog habit? Hhhmmm, I'd say its even right now

5. What was the reason you switched to PVs in the first place?
Tried everything else to quit, nothing worked. I have had multiple people close to me in my family die of lung cancer and my dad has emphysema all due to smoking. I needed to break this viscous cycle. I have tried quitting smoking over 15 times using Nicorette Gum, Hypnosis, Smoke Away, Zyban, Cold Turkey..nothing worked. This is the first time in 19 yrs I haven't even thought about a cig. I've been around smoking socially/drinking, and I usually cave in and have one, but I haven't even remotely wanted one now that I am vaping!

6. Have you noticed any health benefits? (Better breathing, etc?)
Yes! When I run, Pilates or lifting weights no shortness of breath anymore. My skin looks better, I have more energy, I sleep better, I can smell and taste things again..over all better well being. Not to mention, I no longer smell like an ashtray

7. How did you find Halo?
Tons of research on the Internet and here on this forum- VERY reputable company, high quality liquids and many successful quit users.

8. (Halo is my favorite company out there, and my brand of choice.) If this is the same for you, please state the reasons you like Halo the best!
YES they are the best! Great customer service, fantastic liquids, USA shipped and fast at that. Halo's kit packaging is professional and their equipment is super easy to use. The website is informative and also easy to navigate. Halo got me off of cigs!

LOVE HALO/HALO LOVE

I very much appreciate the help from everyone!

Just Ivy Tech (I see you're also in Indiana.) for now, switching to IU soon! This speech is 20% of my total grade, and I'm holding a 3.9 GPA right now, so I'm hoping it stays that way.

Luckily I have a really good professor that also teaches at Notre Dame, so I have been busting it to make sure he likes my speeches!

There is no "just" when it comes to college-BRAVO to you and I'm sure I'm safe to say we're all hoping you get an "A"! I hope ur Prof gets it and understand that drugs and other nicotine devices have been tried by the majority of us and didn't work like Ecigs have. In these forums, there are people that have been cig free for up to 5 years!!!

Good luck and let us know how you did! I went to BSU, by the way, which my dad called it Ball State High School..LMAO!! He was ...... I didn't go to Purdue.

i did in fact go to Purdue for a single semester...way back in '95...my parents were upset i didnt go to Notre Dame, since we're catholic.

cant please anyone...so i stopped trying :)

LOLOL! I'm sure if I could have an academic scholarship to Notre Dame, my dad would have been ecstatic!! (We're also Catholic) but if I were to be accepted there w/out a scholarship, Id love to have seen his face w/those tuition bills!! Or I would have been broke w/student loans. LOLOLOLOLOL I have no idea why he was so hooked on Purdue. I think cuz it was closer to home and he wanted to check on me all the time. Can't take the military out of the man! LOLOL

It's a great school, don't get me wrong, but when I went to orientation day there, then BSU, I knew where I felt comfortable. I mean, it's all about the fun/parties right? ;) I never applied to IU and kind of wish I did. Plus, it would have been way far away from home!!!

EDIT-sry to thread bomb OP, but comments on ur threads make a great BUMP for you!!

Me, a nun...now that's FUNNY!!! Could you see me vaping during confession?!?!?!? And I would DEFINITELY be there A LOT!...ahem ;)

Yeah, and I had the swollen knuckles to prove it. I swear Sister Patricia had a PhD. in knuckle rapping.

It was Sister Mary Ellen for me, she used to kick the !@#$ out of me cos I was...well...a bit on the wild side shall we say. However looking back at that time in my life, I've come to realize that Sister Mary Ellen was a big dude dressed in a nun's costume. In fact now that I think of it, I never saw her and Deacon Fred in the same room at the same time...hmmmmmm

. If you were an analog user: How long were you using analogs before you switched? I used analogs for about 8 years. My mom, about 45 years, minus a 3 year break.

2. How long have you been using a PV without analogs? About a month and a half for both of us.

3. Do you use both analogs and a PV? I'm completely off analogs... mom's working on it. She smokes about 5 a day (down from two packs a day).

4. Economically speaking, how much have you saved using a PV compared to your old analog habit? We'll break even at the end of this month and be saving about $250-300 a month thereafter, between the two of us.

5. What was the reason you switched to PVs in the first place? primarily health reasons - I had a bout of pneumonia that nearly killed me, and mom has COPD. We both decided to quit while we were still kicking. It'll be a huge financial help, too.

6. Have you noticed any health benefits? (Better breathing, etc?) Absolutely. Nice to be able to breathe again.

7. How did you find Halo? I went looking for the best quality cig a like. Mom's job means she can't be walking around with anything that looks mod like and/or "suspicious," and I was afraid that if I started out with an ego type model, the motion wouldn't feel similar enough to smoking and I'd go back to analogs. We both wanted/needed something light and simple that could be held like a cigarette and that would be minimal hassle. I've "graduated" to a box mod now, but mom's still happy with her G6.

8. (Halo is my favorite company out there, and my brand of choice.) If this is the same for you, please state the reasons you like Halo the best! Belgian Cocoa is *amazing*, and I never would have taken further steps into the vaping world without the G6. I'm planning on gifting a set to my dad and one to my stepmom for Christmas.
