Yeah, I think I jinxed myself earlier this month by saying I was good to go without spending any more money. This week my Evod clone batteries are giving me problems - not charging right, running out of charge way too soon, poor vapor production, etc. Not sure if it is the charger or the batteries, but I just put an order in for 2 genuine Evod batteries and a charger. Dang. I was doing so good, too. Good news is that I think we are still set on eliquids until Labor Day sales - as in not NEEDING to buy any. Wanting may be more problematic if I see any of our favorites on sale before then.

Yesterday, I was contemplating possibilities for my Sept. 8 purchases, and remembered this Kanger Protank / Evod Coil Head Assembly - Whole Unit or Parts - Lightning Vapes
All of my rebuildables are this kind of coil. Some of my chimneys have gotten very difficult to fit on the bases, or else come off very easily. In addition, I have many different brands-- some are short chimneys, and some are tall. This could be a real possibility for me.

I like being frugal just not at the cost of quality/satisfaction. I go through around 150ml of juice each month and only vape flavored NETs (Naturally Extracted Tobaccos). I make make my own NETs from cigars and pipe tobacco blends producing 150ml of juice for under $5 including the nic, PG, VG and additional flavorings. I like buying 100mg Nic, PG and VG in quantity but only when on sale. Just ordered another 1000mls of nic for under $50. I really didn't need it but am pessimistic on how I believe the FDA will impact future price/availability so I am now stocked for years to come. I use rebuildable atomizers and mech mods exclusively, they are inexpensive, rock solid reliable/durable and provide stellar performance. Paid $32 for a Kayfun lite+ and S.S. Astro mod over a year ago and am still using both. I re-wick daily using rayon cellucotton and re-coil weekly for under $15 a year. I don't sacrifice or skimp on anything, it's just that you don't have to spend $100 a month to enjoy vaping unless you just want to. While my total vaping costs are about $15 a month, extracting tobacco has become an enjoyable hobby and I produce far more NET than I actually use. On average I buy about half a dozen new tobaccos each month to extract and sample. While not very expensive I still spend more on experimenting/sampling than I do on vaping.

Here we've been forced to be frugal. I get by with a good rent but being handicapped is not easy. The dollar's been rising ever since so everything is so brutally expensive I spend less than 1 dollar a day.

Nowadays I've been in the search of a good dripping atty below 50 bucks, and an original. I might give a try to the iGo W7, a double vertical coil with pools, and with a much simpler airflow control than the Trident clone. I've loved my iGo L, the best buy ever, even vaping it stock with silica.

I'm also searching for a DNA box mod. I don't care about wattages, but sometimes my coils end up at .9 and I don't like mechs. Don't trust FT, had bad experiences with so called "authentic", so I'd be glad if any of you knew of a good box mod below 100 bucks with batteries if possible (Not Sigelei please, all I had from them failed).

My on the go outfits are these lovely eLeaf clearos. Cheap by the carton, pyrex, vape extremely well Eleaf iJust atomizer - Eleaf BCC-GT Bottom Dual Coil Glass Cartomizer - 1.6ml paired with a Twist or the eVic in my avatar. For home vaping, an MVP with a rebuildable (KF, Terminator or iGo L) get the craves. Also not in use an Innokin SVD, a Vamo V3 and a K1000+ clone, but they're too bulky for every day use. I love the MVP as a passthrough, that's why I'd love to get a box mod.

My monthly budget is 75 bucks, enough for 3 30 ml bottles bought locally or a clearo and heads from somewhere. Whenever I can have some extra cash I stock up, but rarely spend more than 200 bucks in a single month unless I've been too lucky!

Next buys:
Box mod (under 100 with 30 A battery)
Another KF
Silica and Kanthal
eLeaf iJust full size Eleaf iJust atomizer - Eleaf iJust Pyrex Glass BDC(Bottom Dual Coil) Atomizer - 3.7ml (cheaper than Aerotank, vapes great).
Original dripping atty double coil below 50 bucks...

Hi, Str8vision

What weight of tobacco yields 150 ml juice for you? I'm in Canada, where prices are much higher (taxes), but I could calculate the cost here, given the cost of rolling tobacco. How do you extract ... infusions?

Hi Lori, There are many ways to extract flavor from tobacco but for DIY home extraction simple soak macerations are best. It's easy. I buy single cigars and pipe tobacco blends which are sold by the ounce or tin and available through many on-line retailers like "Pipes & Cigars" or "Milan Tobacconists". A single ounce of pipe tobacco ($2.75 - $4.75), yields around 100ml of extract which, as a concentrated flavoring, is mixed at 20 - 25% strength with nic, VG, PG and other flavorings to make 400 - 500ml of juice. That's right, a single ounce of tobacco will make over 400ml of juice. Pipe tobacco is the easiest for beginners. There is a sub-forum here on ECF that specifically addresses liquid extraction from tobacco http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/liquid-extraction-tobacco/ If you decide to try your hand at it, PM me and I'd be more than happy to help get you going.

Splurge on one thing, pinch pennies on another?

yep. thanks to the 99cent store, i can survive on little more than a dollar a day for food. if i ever tone down my taste for gorgeous wood bottom-feeder works-of-art mods, i'll easily hit a buck a day for vaping

If I can just make it past the shiny-itis stage I should be good. I am prepping my early (a month ago) stuff that I'm not using in hopes of passing it off to the next new vaper. I think I might be satisfied with my 3 regulated mods, 4 kayfun lite plus clones, and my home made juice. I'm going to find the will power!

Seriously? What is it that you buy for food at the dollar store? We have one down the street but usually we only get things like paper products, and cleaning supplies on the real cheap from them. Hmm, not even sure if they even have a food dept but I should definitely go check it out as I was laid off in Feb of this year (was an independent contractor and well... "taxes" are a very sore subject in our household) so no unemployment for me, and quite honestly I'm a bit tired of spending $40 to $60 every single time I wwalk into the regular super market and all that covers is a few days of food. Summers suck around here, with daily temps over 115°f, a small house built in the 50's with poor insulation, rising electricity prices and the better half is a teacher at two colleges and so doesn't work during the summer and we've always relied on my income every summer to squeak by, this year it's been absolute hell with money draining from every orifice it seems.

I'm home alone this week so I think I'm going to check out the dollar stores that are further away and see what they have and see what it's like to eat on the cheap, money goes so fast when no money is coming in. Thankfully we cut out tobacco cigarettes 3 weeks ago, so thats a savings for the two of us of about $45 to $90 a week (depending on how heavily I was smoking) and we bought a lot of different juices when we quit so even though I don't like many of them, I won't have to go hunting to try to find $3.99 e-juice, at least not for a few more weeks ;)

Anyway, do they have prepackaged food at the dollar store, or you buy a little of this and a little of that and put it together to make dinner?

I was running fast and furious on the shiny-itis train 3 weeks ago when we first quit smoking and were getting into vaping, all the while trying to convince ourselves that it would eventually balance out what with no longer having to pay for tobacco cigarettes anymore. Gotta say though... It's going to take many many months of not smoking tobacco to ever hope of balancing out, assuming we buy no more hardware.

You sound like you are in a very tight situation. Our local food pantry is so generous I don't even need to enroll in the food stamps program.

Just stick with that equipment, and you can make your way through this difficult time.

Perhaps those who DIY juices can send you some of theirs, since you don't even have enough cash to invest in DIY.
