The holiday sales have gotten to me, I actually have ordered some supplies over the last couple months.

A bought a Kick, drip tip and 2 years worth of Menthol crystals...with the discount $22 shipped
The big purchase was a brand new itaze VTR, but I couldn't pass it up for $35 shipped

Nice thing is that I'm now set to wait to see how good the 4th of July sales are.....

Speaking of drip tips... I've had my eye out for a driptip with a very specific look -- I need one that looks good with my red ARO Winder --

AROandKayfun.jpg

I'm using that Kayfun and flared cone on the red Winder right now -- I have strawberry in that kayfun -- I've been wanting a driptip that would look good with that deep, glossy red, but havent' really seen anything that grabbed me. Y'all have any ideas? I thought about starting a thread about this, but I know there would be all these suggestions for driptips that cost +$25, and I just can't see paying more for a driptip than I do for a mod -- I got my Vamo for $17! -- so I thought I'd ask my fellow-budget-minded vapers.

Thx y'all

Yes, I understand that you like red. What shape? I prefer vases, myself.

I do like the Ming vases a lot; my gun-metal on the vamo is one of those, and it's very pleasant against my mouth. That white ceramic one on the kayfun in that pic got broken shortly after that pic was taken. *wahhh*

But I'm not *terribly* particular, as long as it's not that wide-bore kind; I like the way those look, but they tend to choke me with that quantity of vapor -- I've got a couple of those and find I really don't care for them. I did have a red one of those, which I bought for the Winder, but I broke it like the 2nd day I had it -- it was thin glass. The straight ones with a slight lip also feel pleasant to me -- the one I'm thinking of came on my Hypertank II, but I've seen that style in some vendors' driptip selections. I used to be really fond of the very narrow ones, "piccolo" glass/pyrex, but I've discovered that they're kind of a pain, condensate builds up quickly and then causes gurgling when it drips down, so you have to swab them out a lot.

The color of the first kind, the acrylic red and black, seems to work best. Actually I had been considering the red anodized aluminum at IBTanked, but they're $9; it's not out of the question, but a little more than I've spent so far for a driptip. But the metallic anodized red might be the best "match" -- those aluminum ones at gotvapes, it says that the red one isn't as glossy as those pictured, but more flat, and that's not really the right match for this dark red's deep sheen. I really wish Smok made one from this same material, so it would match, but I guess they feel ok with just selling their ARO pyrex tanks -- which I have, but I just don't like clearos anymore.

Ok, thanks!! I think the red rook at discountvapers, and the red genie at crazyvapes, are the ones I like best, that best suit the dark red color. I checked also at desertvapes because I knew they had the genies too, but their red genie just isn't an intense enough red, it looks kinda faded, washed out. Mostly I shop for price, but in this case, I think the extra cost at crazyvapes is worth it.

But, I might do the discountvapers one, if I can find something else there to buy at the same time so the shipping doesn't kill me; I had a good thing going on there, was almost at the 5th purchase to qualify for their discount, but I stopped buying replaceable coils when I got my kayfun, and haven't ordered from them since. So I might get that one just so I can be qualified for the discount on my next purchase.

Thx!

Grrrr! I've got two iSticks that I love. I DIY nic juice which I love and I've just got my first RBA (an Aga t5) which I'm getting on well with.

I've got backups for all my gear and I so thought I'd be able to join this club (but at £1 a day as I'm a Brit)... but I still need stuff!!

Aaaggh!!!

I need another t5 because I like to vape two flavours... I need drip tips because the Agas don't come supplied with any... I need o-rings in case I lose any (which I've already managed to do!)... I'm just about to buy a torch to fire my coils when rebuilding... I should buy a proper Ohm reader (I'm using the one on the iSticks atm) - actually I will be buying... Do I really need blunt ceramic tweezers??

*sigh*

Looks like it'll be a bit longer before I can hang out here. *shoulders slump in dejection*

Save me a place, ok guys? I'll be back.

;) :vapor:

Not to worry, Big. We'll keep a spot for you :)

Yes, it's vital to have sufficient backup gear. Without it, there's a risk that you'll go back to cigs due to equipment failure. Just keep in mind that those costs, for good gear, will average out over time. The trick is to get only what you need for that, and resist getting the next best thing (today, something nexter and bester tomorrow....) just because it's new and shiny and full of promise.

With your 2 Isticks, you can check Ω of a build on both. If they agree, then you could postpone the DMM. (Although I like to check my builds at the terminals before putting on a device, and check again then if it's so equipped, and you need a DMM for the first.)

Blunt ceramic tweezers... very handy if you're doing compressed coils, but not absolutely necessary....

I'm lurking and enjoying the thread. I have been smoke free for over 2 yrs and love it. Vaping is sooooo much more enjoyable. I have to admit I spent a lot of money on stuff after my initial EGO purchases with EVODS......Provari, sold it, expensive tanks....sold them.....I keep going back to my EVODS and I build or buy coils from FT for about 7-cents each....and they last at least a week.....so that's a penny a day. I rewick with cotton....almost zero expense.....and it's the best vape. I have a few Isticks, and VV3 batteries which to me are great and my Egos which are now very old....but still work. My juice is probably my most expensive thing......have tried DIY and never get it right. So I figure the MBV juice I vape at about 5 Mls a day still runs me less than a dollar a day. There is no way that expensive tanks and equip make vaping that much better. I am happy and that is what matters I guess.
My health is worth millions.....so I am glad I found vaping and such GREAT people to chat with.
Happy New Year to everyone here.

Hi Joie!

Finding the hardware (and flavors, and nic strength) that keeps you happy is the important part, not whether you have the latest and greatest gizmo! Cloud chasing and other aspects of vaping are, really, secondary to the primary (well, MY primary!) goal of vaping - being a NON-SMOKER :)

While I have several regulated and unregulated tube mods, Kayfuns, Lemos, Orchids, and enjoy the building / hobby side, I also have and use numerous ego style VV batteries, T3S, PT and other glasso types. Sometimes smaller is a more convenient choice for me, and with rebuilt coils in them and VV, yes, they do vape just fine!

One thing you can do with your flavors - get some zero nic in the PG/VG ratio you like, order your juice at twice the nic level you like and with extra flavor - double or triple. Then cut it in half with the zero nic. (Or just get BIG bottles of PG and VG and do it that way - even cheaper) Since zero nic is so much cheaper than nic, you get close to cutting your juice costs in half, without going full DIY.
