I think I might be close to $1 per day ... I started with a Blu kit like many smokers ... I then bought an eVic and some juice.

Then I bought a black Provari mini with IBTanked from the classies ... bullseye, found my perfect setup.

Then I started DIY and created 2 ADVs ... bought 2 more black Provari minis from the classies and topped everything with IBTanks.

I change a carto on average about every 3 days and keep my stock supply above 100 cartos.

therefore, I vape for a $1 per day and I also give away more juice than I vape myself.

Ooh! Oh! Count me in!

I'm not quite there yet. But as soon as I start my planned DIY-ness it'll be a breeze. :D

I started vaping in October after my third layoff from as many companies in as many years. There may be places where real estate is bounding back steadily but it's not where I'm at.

I couldn't afford both cigs and food on unemployment. It's that simple.

After several rounds of "overqualified", after the first month passed "resume gap", accusations of "job hopping" (like I deliberately set out to close the last few places I worked down...sheesh), and being hounded about the details of my child care arrangements I said screw it. I moved halfway across the country and started working for myself. :p

The hours are long but then again the starting pay sucks. But it's enough if I'm frugal (especially since I'm mot shelling out through the nose for those child care arrangements!) and down the road it will pay off! It will!

....but there's that "if I'm frugal" thing. It can't cost a lot for this habit.

So there's my story.

I suppose we can allow an owner of more than one Pro-whatsit join. JK, anyone interested in the subject can join.

I'm not into collecting as all the Provaris are the same and were bought on the cheap ... plus they came with batteries and a charger.

Basically, once you find your perfect setup and a DIY ADV ... vaping for $1 a day is very doable.

While I'm not sure I'm willing to fall into this camp, I may accidentally be close...

With an SVD, KMax, Tesla and Vamo V5 for regulated mods, a couple of mechanicals, a V1.5 MVP, several ego styles, and a slew of autos for hands free, I'm finally "comfortable" on that front. (Along with about a dozen 18650s, a couple of '500s and a '350 for shortie mode... and three chargers for them, with numerous ego chargers, I think I have sufficient backups for my backups.

And I think I'm through (yeah, right!) with my topper hunt. Having tried my first Kayfun style a few months back, I now have three. And lots of Kanthal and cotton :)

Essentially all my other toppers use PT or T3S coils, and those I rebuild.

While not a DIY for juice, I try to only buy it in twice my regular strength (18, and 36 is about the highest premix around...) with an extra flavor shot, then cut it with my preferred PG/VG no nic, almost cutting that cost in half. And other than the occasional new flavor, I get large bottles when I order, so I don't have to pay the shipping as often.

Per my sig line, it's now 619 days since my last cig. So maybe I'm around that $2.50 a day...

A good clean and dry burn can go a long way towards extending coil life-- but not forever. Some say around three C&DB cycles. Coils may seem to be a minor expense, but it does mount up. With wick and wire, you can cut yet another cost. And that doesn't count the shipping expense with small orders.

Regarding that three cycles...

I've found that with BCCs I get 10 or 12. I toss the flavor wicks, and replace with a full strand of the now infamous P&C cotton yarn. With that out of the way, you have a good view of the coil and original silica wick, so can dry burn to restore it to almost new condition. Another rinse and let dry. When they do finally reach end of life condition, I swap to a "new" one, and wash the old. It goes into a shot glass, and when I get about a dozen there, I'll rebuild them all in one sitting.

While I do rebuild them with a silica main wick, so I can repeat the process, some folk use cotton for the main wick as well. Of course, you can't dry burn that, but if you line up the coil right inside the base, it's easy to replace when needed.

Not sure if I will ever get into rebuilding coils - my eyes are bad, my hands shake, and all my patience goes to my grandson, who has Autism. My daughter and I share housing and living expenses so I can take care of him when she is working, etc. I do have some organic cotton balls so I can try my hand at rewicking. Right now, I am really enjoying the fact that I can prolong the life of the coils with cleaning and dry burning - we used cigalikes for close to 2 years, and throwing cartos away when they became unusable made me sad.

If your eyes are bad get a magnifier. They have a hands free type that is lighted at Hobby Lobby in the sewing dept. I got mine with a 40% off coupon a year ago. Cost me about 12.00. I use it to rebuild my coils. Just got some of those magnifying reading glasses at the dollar store for lol a dollar. They work great for close up stuff but if I look up I get dizzy.
