I've been vaping on the shop floor where I work for almost two years with no problems. Then I'm laid off for a few months and a week after I get back the personel guy goes around and tells all the vapers, no more vaping on the shop floor, because some employees were complaing about clouds. I looked the personel guy in the eye and told him from now on I would be more sneaky but I wasn't sure yet what I meant by that. (I don't do clouds.)

Before I was off I was the big brother vape nanny. I'd intervene with the cloud chasers, nope, don't do that. I got my way. Now I'm back and we're going to find some middle ground. What's happening is the vapers are a bit more discrete but tending to ignore the new rule. I'm getting around and saying, don't do the clouds or the ban will escalate. So far so good.

Then I wrote a joke. It's okay to vape on the shop floor if you don't exhale. That is funny but also turned into my stratagy. What I'm doing now is taking an occasional hit then holding on to it until there is little or no visible vapor. That's working beautifully for me. vaping is reduced to a mannerism if there's no visible vapor. This weekend I'm going to mix some high PG liquid and see what it's like.

I don't completely mind the restriction. I wanted to reduce daily ml's from 7 to half that and that seems to be happening. Nothing wrong with that.

The problem is the younger guys care more about the clouds than the nic. Addicted to clouds? I'm getting old.

Just becareful.

I'm a hourly guy where I work. Clearly I must follow all rules of management.

But another hourly guy telling me what to do would not end well. I won't have it. Depending on my mood it could end with an obscene gesture and vague suggestion, an harassment complaint to HR or even worse.

Just no way of telling what kind of day others are having and if its not you job to be in others business its best to stay out.

Seeing as you DIY it's pretty easy to make stealth juice. Mine is 10 mg/ml, 90 PG, 10 H2O. It only requires about a five second breath hold and little to no vapor escapes. Low watt setup for the win...Good luck.

If you like throat hit 100% PG is very stealthy. Only need to hold it a few seconds and there is no visible vapor. Don't forget to let off on the fire button a half a second before you quit inhaling or there will be a wisp from the mouth piece.

Stealth juice ftw! My work vape is a pico 75w and pg juice. Nice and discrete. I'm often alone in the office but people walk in from time to time so I'll have to ghost a hit, they probably wonder why I'm staring at them for 5 seconds with a dumb look on my face before I respond to them, lol!

It's stupid, but the vapers have gotten clumped in with the smokers at work and are banished to only vaping outside... even though its not smoke or harmful to anyone in the vicinity. Sigh.....

I'm hourly too, but an older guy only involved in trades for going on 4 years (I'm an engraver). I made my money as a garage inventor who took some things to market successfully. That involved lots of mechanical work but that's not the trades. It's fun because I'm not burned out and pays well if you don't mind brutal hours like 65 hours a week for months on end. When you're on the job that much it's harder to keep personal and work separate because there's no time for personal. We're going to find a middle ground with vaping.

May be what's different about my shop is all the brass built the company from the ground up. They did everything we do and no union to complicate things. This time the brass isn't particularly sympathetic to the complainers. That helps a lot. It would be a drag if they got as uptight about vaping as they are about smokde breaks. I'm going to try to keep that from happening even if it annoys a few people, which hasn't happened yet. It also doesn't hurt that the General Manager, a super salesman, is a smoker and wishes he wasn't. I've fronted vape stuff to him and been as encouraging as I can. It would be a big prize to get him full time vaping. Me and the other vapers have talked about that.

In the mean time clouds are annoying. If we want to keep vaping on the shop floor there has to be a way to deal with that.

It's too early to be sure but I think the win will be nothing visible on the exhale. Then all I'm doing is taking a breath. There isn't a rule against breathing, yet.

Glad to be amongst other stealthers; never been caught unless I felt like it.
So lets turn this into a thread about stealth techniques. The Pico is my favorite form factor. The SV rda I use excllusively is short so the whole package is quite small. May be now I have a reason to get one of those minis with temp control to go even smaller. I mix DIY with a very low percent of flavoring because I prefer it that way and it also means less detectable odor in the air and on my clothing.

Take shirt collar (tshirt or whatever.. probably not good with dress style shirts).. Bunch it up a little and bite down on it gently and exhale INTO the fabric.. almost nothing escapes. No cloud. 9 times out of 10 absolutely nothing to see.. No problems.
These solutions don't work on a shop floor with people all around. Minimal flavoring helps with odor. What can be done about visible vapor?

I just mixed up 20 ml of 1% flavoring, 9 mg nic, and 100% PG. Since I use an rda with no bottom air supply there isn't going to be a leaking issue. Can I live without the visible vapor? Probably, but this might not work for the younger guys who vape for the clouds on very little nic.

I can't blame people who don't like clouds on the shop floor. I don't like it either. Having said that there are people chewing tobacco on the floor. I hate it but I'm I've never said anything and I never will. One of the conventions in the trades is, don't be a snitch. Builders complaining about electricians vaping violates that rule.

So I spotted a builder sneaking a smoke outside. I waved my mod at him and said, ya know, that smoking stuff isn't good for you. He shot back with vaping is just as bad. I thought the exchange was funny as hell. He was not amused.

I rely on a Plato, which looks nothing like a vape kit, and high PG juice and have stood next to people who don't even give a second look. I think they believe it's some type of inhaler of something, so no connection to vaping.
I'm not ready to give up my rda and Pico but I'm trying 100% PG liquid right now.

It's more sweet tasting than I like but the amount of visible vapor is trivial to none. That part works. I miss the VG texture and the visible vapor. I'm puffing more, looking for the vapor. I can feel the extra nic from too many puffs. It might be a bit more irritating to my throat but I'm getting a nic hit and a throat hit. It's better than not vaping at all. We'll see if I can win the argument with this setup.

Why aren't high PG mixes discussed more? I think I could vape this almost anywhere with impunity. Look out Walmart, here I come.

My son just came home with a stealthy little set up yesterday, one I had never heard of before. It looks just like a lighter. The icare mini. It's rechargeable and refillable. Maybe someone in this thread would be interested.
I'm experimenting with high PG liquid and going to order an Evic Basic and leave it at work. Paired with my usual SV rda clone it will be a tiny package. Then if there's no visible vapor...?
