You shouldn't get overly freaked out about this, but you also shouldn't shrug this off because of its rarity. Seeing the post from ctourtelot saying they leave their batteries charging all the time until they need them is a VERY bad message to convey to people looking for some kind of panic relief on this topic.
Sure people do it, and they may never see any negative results, but it's flat out reckless to constantly leave li-ion batteries on chargers that are possibly trickle charging them. I'm sorry and I don't mean offense by that statement, but people read stuff like that and they think they can do it too because 'Johnny' does it and he never had a problem in the X amount of years doing it, and before you know it a battery explodes on the person complacent about li-ion batteries and it potentially ruins their life.
Just use common sense and learn a little bit about li-ion technology and proper charging, and you will be fine. And NEVER leave li-ion batteries on a charger after they finished charging unless you are absolutely certain that the charger offers true charge termination.
