Don't know a whole lot about mods just that I want one.

Ok so I've been vaping for a long while and am ready to move up to a mod. I've got it narrowed down. Now if someone could tell me which would be better that would be great. The LAVATUBE or 18650 Variable Voltage

My personal opinion.... I like the 18650 Variable Voltage better, only because I like the feel of it and the dual 18650's give you longer battery life. I do have a Lavatube and it is also nice but does not really feel right in my hand and sometimes I just do not feel like I am getting the right taste for the voltages. But either one are great choices

A better place to look at on the board would be under the mods discussion in general, here is more for discussion of the "homebrew" side of things! Not saying you aren't welcome, but if your looking to buy, there is some great info there.

both seem decent, but perhaps bulky? not crazy about the splash colors either, but then again the pattern would hide any imperfections/nics/scratches quite nicely.

Thank you for all the opinions, and I will definatley look into the general discussion on mods. I would love to build my own personally just to say I did this and it works. But I tend to get on my husbands nerves when I have to ask him what color wire is this? I repaired a fishtank balast last month and really got on his nerves.

One consideration with the LavaTube is output power. It's claimed to be 15W but I've been seeing reports of much less. Generally it's not an issue for a standard resistance atomizer, but for dual/triple coil or dual barrel, it can be a problem. The LavaTube simply limits current without any indication of an over-load so you end up vaping with less power than the setting should provide. The other device you linked to looks like a dual battery that uses a different kind of regulator with much higher output capability, more than you'd ever need. So with the other device, you get twice the run time and twice the ouput capability.

You have to look at in terms of preference. Most of the stuff in vaping does boil down to personal preference. Do you want the longer run time and output capability or do you want the more compact size. In my case, the priority would be size so I would in fact go for the LavaTube, but again, it depends on what you prefer.
