i did and i just bought my first pack of cigs in about a month. i wasnt even gonna fight it. i need juice or i'll smoke. my gf who smokes and occasionally vapes my stuff was perplexed that i needed to run back to the cigs. she doesnt vape enough to understand how its helping me and while she is a smoker, she mostly just does it as a nervous habit from being stressed out, not because she is addicted to nicotine so she also doesnt understand it in that regard. there are 2 b&m's about 30 mins away each (too far of a roundtrip to make on my lunch, esp with traffic) and an online shop that's closer but i dont think they have a storefront and they didnt respond to my emails. i am awaiting the arrival of 4 different juices x 30ml each x 24mg nic each in the mail but in the meantime i have succumb to the cigs. i must say though that they arent even close to as enjoyable as vaping so when the gear is working and i have juice there is little to no temptation to smoke.

It's happened to many of us, man. Especially in the early days. You really just have to keep more juice on hand than you ever think you'll need. I have a ton of juice right now, and enough DIY to keep me vaping for a couple months, but I make it a point to order $20 a juice a week. Part of that is fear of running out, but I am also still experimenting with flavors, which thankfully, seem to be endless.

Don't kick yourself, though. Just try not to smoke your lungs black before you get your juice. Good luck, keep up the vaping.

Hi Filter,
I'm going to take the tough love approach so take the rest of this post humorously.

I see that you are new, so you can be excused for the Newbie Mistake of running out.
In my opinion, unless you are destitute, running out is a choice. Either you choose to always have safety stock or you choose not to and end up smoking again.

You should always have:

1 Extra Vaping unit, maybe a twist style Discount Vapers sells them for $20.00
3 Extra Clearomizers maybe Vivi Nova around $13.00 for unit with 3 heads and $2.00 a head.
3 bottles on hand at all times: try hhv Heathers Heavenly Vapes $12.00 for a 30ml bottle
and if you are using a Battery Powered unit you need 2 extra batteries and an extra charger.

I've been vaping for 3 years and from the school of hard knocks have learned never to run out. Hardware in this industry is not reliable.
Bottles of Juice can spill, Clearomizers can operate 1 day instead of the 2 weeks they are supposed to. E-Cigs even the Provari break.
You can't depend on having just one of anything. Or you'll be back to the radioactive cancer sticks.

If I did run out though, I'd use Snus or Snuff, instead of smoking.
Don't you know smoking is hazardous to your health?

Oh Boy! How crummy for you. But ! if it happens to you again, or anyone you know, just an FYI that most drugstores and Walmarts sell disposable blus till you raid a B&M or pay Fedex shipping for the nectar to be in your possession again. It might not be the greatest but maybe it can suffice when all else fails...

I am down to about 75 ml of juice and am about to reorder. That should last me a month but you never know what will happen. I have a B&M very close so I don't have to panic if I run out (or even if my 2 Twists die) but I like to plan ahead. My wife and daughter tease me that I am preparing for a zombie apocolypse but I refuse to run out of anything and go back to the stinkies.

I am planning to buy another backup battery (probably a pass through) shortly and I have been looking at mods recently. You basically need to backup your backups and keep PLENTY of juice so you can stay off the stinkies.

im certainly not destitute. i have a decent job as an accountant, however, my gf has been out of work for over 2 years and ive been picking up the slack. good news, i just found her a job and she starts wednesday. i also have been giving her temp work as my part-time assistant. anyways, im new to vaping but have dropped the following in a little over a month:

$20 disposables
$50 crappy smoke shop non-disposable + cart refills (12 cartos total from this one)
$50 volt kit
$50 volt cartos
$50 juice (hasnt arrived)

plus a few packs of cigs for myself and even more for my gf. so all-in-all im out about $300 in about a month and i dont have much to show for it. anyway i need to get this but its out of stock and i need to get volt to gimme a battery for posting my pic and i need my juice order to arrive. if i can get those three things sorted, i think i'll be straight as long as i spend $50/month on juice and $20/month on hardware (on average) after that.

I'm a newb and I'm just finding waiting for my new purchases to steep painful enough. I have a couple that are vapable right now, so I'm ok. Running completely out would be really bad, but it would be compounded by having to wait to get more in, then either wait some more for it to steep or vape stuff that isn't that great. Better to have enough stock so you have good stuff when you want it. I'm trying to build up a bit of a stock so I won't feel so deprived waiting to try my new samples.

I know there's a lot of debate on steeping, but so far I haven't tried a single juice that hasn't improved quite noticeably from it. I even had one juice that I would've considered unvapable a few days ago that's quite tasty now.

Hi Filter,
The "Unless you are Destitute" was rhetorical and not in any way aimed at you. That's a good price for a backup Kit. Although I'd go for an adjustable EGO eGo C Twist Variable Voltage Black and a charger from Discount Vaper as a backup unit. They ship fast. You might enjoy the world of VV Vaping better anyway. Another alternative which I'll be reviewing shortly is Ego Variable Volt V2 (Stainless Steel) I think it looks pretty nifty and with a 14500 charger and extra battery should be under $50.00.

Again the Destitute was not aimed at you and I apologize if you thought it was an attack.

No kidding, gthompson. I'm more addicted to the gear than the juice!

That said, I have started buying stuff I really do not need. I have been purchasing things on my old analog budget. I spent $7 per pack, at a pack a day, which comes to almost $50 a week (damn, right?). I allow myself to spend that much a week, and actually don't usually get near that. This week I bought some effluvia - drip tips, blank cartos, juice, cases - stuff that I can keep on hand for emergencies and for variety.

So, definitely allow set up some sort of budget for yourself. You may find at first you spend more, but over time you'll find yourself flush and start seeing some savings. A good way to do that is to NOT come to ECF. This place is a black hole for your bank account. :w00t:

not at all. $ is certainly a concern, however, i'd sooner spend the same or even more to be vaping than smoking. i was stupid and thought 35 prefilled cartos would last me longer than they did. and to make matters worse, there was a fraudulent charge on my bank account so they shut my card off so i couldnt order online until i received a new one. that was biggest issue and i accidently left it out of my first post.

Here's what I did....Went absolutely crazy for the first month or so spending a bit over my regular cig budget for juices. Built up a good collection, and now I'm spending about half as much as smoking replenishing my supply. That doesn't count though if you splurge on expensive equipment (I only use eGo style batteries (on sale) and stardust rebuildable clearos (clean the heads in alcohol, buy new ones every couple months), I don't do the Provari stuff...yet).

Well I just played my biweekly EC Blend order, actually getting 30mls of my favorites (RY4, Fruit Smoothie, Banana Pudding)

Probably hit my door monday. Until then I'm down to peanut butter cup and that kahlua wizard that didn't meet my expectations. And those two vapedudes juices i got for a dollar which aren't horrible but aren't going to be reordered either.

I cut it too close sometimes. But I can go sneakity sneak like fill a carto from my father in law's stash. He quit vaping cold turkey.

Not to veer the thread off topic, but for those considering saving money, the DIY route is really economical.
I'm spending around $6.00 for a 30ml of Juice and it's as good or better than anything storebought.

I recommend the Nic Base from Wizard Labs.
Right now I'm vaping Organic Kona Cream sprinkled with Hazelnut Amaretto.
I'm alternating it with Organic Chocolate Cinamon Sprinkle.

The only area of DIY I haven't figured out yet is the Tobacco Flavors.
But I have a Mason Jar of Organic Tobacco mixed with VG and PGA brewing for 45 days (I'm in Day 11). I'm expecting to create a true tobacco Cigarette Flavor
that will blow the socks off of anything store bought. But it could end up tasting like sxxxt that's the fun.

Might be an option after tax time, when my brother & sister in laws hopefully move out and take the baby with them. I simply can't have enormous volumes of high grade poison laying around right now.
