I wouldn't buy anything yet. As I haven't tried putting everything together and it might turn out to be a big bust without some machining. I was curious if you already had one of those Atlantis bridges. Here is what they look like with the A-tank.

Since it seems you don't have one, just hang on until I find out what works and what doesn't.

Thanks for looking into it. I'll wait for your findings.

For their ergonomic value I'd like to strongly recommend the use of swivel or angled drip tips for the Abyss or for any SBS mod. It can simply put the channel at a better angle to vape from.

The most useful I found, an adapter, is pictured in the attached photo. The only place I could find these has been at vapinart.com (Angled Drip Tip Adapter) who has a number of other unusual accessories as well, some, like this adapter, likely left over from an earlier time. Anyway, the prices are good and the owner's unusually knowledgeable.

I've injured my left hand and can't swivel the top to open the battery compartment of my Abyss without risking further injury. Does anyone use the integral battery charger?

I've been using Pila chargers forever and have been slow to trust in anything else. Are integral chargers considered safe today? Is it safe to use the same battery over and over for a month or two? I'm such a lightweight these days that that probably means only five or six charges. Would appreciate input.

I almost never swing the top plate on mine. I refill it on the Abyss and I've been using the internal charging like 98% of the time. The screen stays lit with a charging battery bar. When charging is complete, screen blanks out. Red light goes out too. It has been really solid on this mod.

As with Bill and Nailz, I use the USB charger and hardly ever spin the top. Basically, the battery gets refreshed in an external charger each time the coil is replaced with my mods, otherwise, it's the USB charger.

I know how my external charger behaves. All the vendors' USB chips? I have no idea. I like to have the occasional sanity check by throwing the battery on a charger every once in a while for a discharge/recharge cycle, and the best time for me is when I've got the mod out of service anyway.

My abyss is my favorite mod but...
When I use it's USB charger the charging graph on the display goes steadily from discharge to fully charged and back every few seconds and never finally tells me that it's fully charged. Does anyone else's do this? Should I be concerned?

Has anyone found an Atlantis bridge that works with the unit?

That's normal. The lower the battery, the lower it will start at. Then the bar shows it is growing and that means it is charging and repeats. The higher the battery level, the higher on the bar it will start at. Eventually it will start higher and higher until it tops out and the display turns black when fully charged. The red light at the USB also turns off.

Has anyone found an Atlantis bridge that works with the unit?

I was afraid you were going to ask that. I'm working on it and working out a solution.

How many bars stay lit? If it is really low, all bars would be gone and then one bar at a time gets added till full and repeats every few seconds or so. As it charges, the first bar will stay solid while charging the rest of the time. Then bar one and two stays on, etc. until they are all solid. So how many bars stay solid? The charge current is just under 1A. So charging a 4000mah 21700 could take a bit longer than 4 hours.

I wrote to Dovpo support about my charging issue and got the following reply. Does anyone here know how to update the firmware as they suggest?

"Hi, it is best to stop using it first. We cannot figure out the problem accurately, but I think it is the firmware. If it still does not work after a firmware update, please try to get back to me."

Nope, I haven't seen it drain here. That is the one that doesn't fully charge right? It sounds like that one has a bad battery chip to me. If the chip is bad, it may drain the battery down to 0.5v if you leave it long enough. For the times I've seen a bad battery chip, it takes 30 to 40 hours to drain a full 18650 battery. YMMV.
