We are fortunate to have people like this speaking up on our behalf and to have a journal willing to give voice to their findings.

Well, the if the journal had more integrety, they never would've published the original letter to begin with. But I agree whole heartedly about how fortunate we are to have really good people like those who wrote that response fighting for us.

And the folks that search all of this stuff out and spoon feed it to the rest of us. The community works hand in hand with the professionals in not only getting the word out but often translating a lot of it into an easier to absorb form. Certainly folks like Dr Farsalinos deserve unlimited accolades for their work in exposing the truth in the sea of lie$ but give yourselves a big pat on the back too for bringing it to the rest of us.

Agreed. I can see how politically, we are fortunate to have these people fighting for us.

But reality is modern science is fortunate that this sort of balance exists, even while it is clearly being downplayed. Without it, science (as a practice) would be even more lost than it already is. If scientific types want to lay claim to "best method around," they'd be wise to promote the opposition. Every time it is downplayed, a scientific angel loses their wings.
