I love this man! He commenting on a study that examined the history and reliability of what's currently considered a lethal nicotine dose and that pretty much debunks it.

The guest editorial in the Archives of Toxicology written by Professor Mayer (above link) is definitely worthwhile reading! Dr Farsalinos deserves a thumbs up for publicizing it, too.

Very interesting.
I thought from the very beginning that nicotine dosages, particularly lethal dosages, were well-established and widely known.
The way that the '60mg of nic' figure is quoted so often as the lethal adult dose, I thought it was scientific fact.

Serves as yet another powerful reminder about the caution needed with numbers and statistics, and how they are easily used, abused and manipulated.

... oh and the original article is not by Dr. Farsalinos, but by Prof. Dr Mayer, German-speaking scientist (from Austria, I think).
Dr. Farsalinos kindly took it up and published it for the English-speaking vaping world

You should never take facts for granted. Just claiming something is fact does not make it so, but it works great as an argument technique against the willfully ignorant aka the public. We should start asking these health officials where these "facts" came from in open forums.

It would be wildly entertaining if we could arrange massive attendance for Mitch Zeller's webinar, and we all just kept repeatedly asking this question until he answered.

The webinar has been postponed "due to the govt. shutdown" (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ar-wednesday-october-9-2013-2-00-p-m-edt.html). I won't be at all surprised if it isn't rescheduled for a long time. Cynical me...
