I see drip shields on mod batteries all the time and they look amazing. Why don't we see them on Egos or anything else other than mod batteries?

And can someone please tell me what exactly they are for?

If I put a plan carto on my Ego Twist, can't I use a drip shield for looks if for nothing else or would it harm the setup?

Thanks ever so!

Well the primary purpose of a drip shield, is to prevent juice from harming the Ecigs finish or battery connections/internals when dripping. They are also used to enhance the look of a ecig mod. You should have no problem finding a drip shield that looks great with your ego. Google Ego Shield and you will see some pictures on the net.

What is Dripping?

Dripping is when instead of using carts or cartomizers you drip the.e liquid directly onto the Atomizer, SmartVapes Dripping Atomizers have been designed especially for this purpose.

.With no bridge or wire mesh blocking or slowing the ejuice from the coil and a larger ceramic cup this produces a much cleaner vape allowing more eliquid to be exposed to the coil which also produces more vapor.

A typical 510 Dripping set up would be.

an electric cigarette, electronic cigarette or ecig
a Dripping Atomizer
a Drip Tip
e cig drip shield
a Shorty 510-510 Connector if your electronic cigarette does not have a raised connection (this will lift the atomizer high enough for your drip shield to function properly)
.When you use a Atomizer for the first time you should drop around 4 drops of ejuice directly onto the coil. A lot of E cig users prefer to remove the Drip Tip to do this as sometimes dripping the juice through the drip tip the juice will not allways get down to the coil inside the Dripping Atomizer fast enough. After waiting a few. moments (just the first time you use it) go ahead and drip 2 more drops of juice in and then Vape away.

. When you first start learning to drip you will have to learn when to Drip again, usually this would be 4-5 puffs however it depends on how you vape and what voltage you are vaping at with what resistance Atty. A good rule of thumb when you are beginning is if you start to notice the taste of your vape move towards a burning oily tire taste then its time to drip again. (we call that "Dratty") after a few days you will get the knack of avoiding this and get to know when to drip some more.

. Which Atomizer is for me?

.As you get more experienced you will change it up to suit yourself but here is a good starting guide if you use.510 atomizers.

If your using a 3.7 Volt device go for a Low Res 510 atomiser like this one most eGo type electronic cigarettes are around 3.7V I would not use a LR Atty on a ecig less than 650mAh though it can damage the battery.

Dripping Atomizer™ 510 1.8ohm Stainless
If your using a 5volt or higher Ecig or ecig mod then you would need the 3ohm Dripping Atomizer

Dripping Atomizer™ 510 3ohm Stainless
So there you have it, when someone asks "What is Dripping" you now have the answer, I hope to publish more info on how to use an electronic cigarette,.enjoy vaping without the bad filler taste you get from some cartomizers and carts and experince the flavor that direct dripping brings out on your e liquid. If you have any questions on dripping shoot me a email from this website. Keep Vaping no matter.which e cigarette you choose.

Thank you for your reply and all the information.

I'm already been dripping into cartomizers for my Safe Cig and now have been using dual coil cartomizers and tanks. I was thinking of just using plain cartos on my Ego Twists.

By googling "ego drip tips", all I get are the drip tips and not drip shields. I think perhaps that I might just get a regular Ego cone to cover the threads if I use a carto without the tank.

Thanks again for the info!

I personally think these are a waiste of money, they are more and accessory. In some mod cases they can thicken a draw making it more like sucking up a milkshake if your into that. But honestly, if your using this you have a problem with over dripping and need to learn how and when to drip. No need for these things at all.
