I never smoked habitually, so that part is a little different for me. I smoked to enjoy it, and usually bought american spirits because I liked the flavor best and didn't care that they cost a little more. I was into cigars for a while, but I never bought a fancy humidor. I just used a nice tupperware (tupperador) container and a $15 hygrometer. I think the last time I smoked out of the stash was last summer. It just so happens that I enjoy vaping more, and I like that it is healthier.

That said, I don't want an ugly piece of equipment, and will buy the one I think looks better provided that those good looks don't outweigh what I could be getting from something that could perform better. It's just that... when some of these tips cost $20, I go, "ouch, why not just get another protank," (or whatever you like.)

As far as mouth feel goes, unless I feel like I'm cramming a highlighter into my mouth, I really could care less. Cold metal? No problem. Plastic? No big deal. I wonder if this has something to do with how people feel about the texture of their foods. I've never really been bothered by any texture. The flavor is what really matters to me, while a good texture is simply a bonus. For instance, I never understood why people like croissants. My ex would go crazy ranting about how she loved the flaky texture, but I simply find them bland. A good one I can admire, but that is the same with a lot of foods. Perhaps this is a similar concept?

Also, glad to know you don't feel that I have hijacked the thread. Some people (and some forums) get really testy about this.

Well, right now I have two evods and three protank II minis. My goal is to get a regular protank II so that I have something a bit bigger, but after that, I think I'm done with tanks for a while. Six flavors available to me at any given time is a dream come true. Next I want a new VV battery. The ego-c twist I have is a bit off. I forced the guy at the B&M to sell me the metallic red one he had on display and he told me that if I had any problem with it I could return it, but I like it even though it has a few issues so I'm keeping it. I have about 25 juices right now, only about ten of which I really like, so more juice is always on my list. But once I have all that, what's next? Part of the pleasure of vaping, for me anyway, is getting that vape mail. I could really see researching and then investing in a nice, expensive drip tip at least once, just to have one. The way I figure it, I'm from Chicago and a pack of cigarettes is like, $11. So even if I spent $50 on something nice to vape with, that would be five lousy packs of smokes if I wasn't doing this.

And I must say, I'm pleased with my order from Totally Wicked. Both juices go in the "like" section of my juice shelf.

For me, I'm mostly a function over form person. I like appearances to suit my taste, but my taste is pretty broad, and that's very much secondary.

The point for me with a drip-tip is it's 'tuning' the experience. Once you've got your mod and your delivery device set up how you like them, you can accentuate the vape in different ways for little cost and with little complexity by adding a different drip tip. Long ones, cold ones, insulated ones, airy ones, whatever.

I wouldn't spend £20 on one unless I was *damn* sure I liked it, and intended to keep it for a long time. But having a selection that cost £2 - £5 makes sense to me. When I've already bought hundreds of pounds worth of other parts, and spent many hours learning to set them up, it makes sense to take that low-cost, low-hassle final step.

That makes some sense to me. Perhaps I'm just not obsessed enough...yet. :p

No I haven't, that's pretty cool! But... only cartos (and prefilled :() is a nogo for me... Thanks for linking that.
And yeah yeah, I get it... I liked the novelty of a zippo...lol We all have our weak spots I guess.

I'm from Pa, the state that makes them. Big Zippo fans here! Lol, most folks here have had the dreaded "Zippo Burn" on their thighs.

    - People on here have modified them to take clearos and such...

Oh, I have to reply to this by saying drip tips are important to me. I need a stainless steel one with the right lip comfort zone and straight channel for dripping in my RDA. I don't go for the fancy glass and all the ruffles type drip tip. Drip tips can be important to us Drippers! If you aren't a dripper, it's all hooplah.

I'm going to be honest here.... But I really don't understand the drip tip fixation. Of all the things to spend money on... I'd rather just buy a new bottle of juice, or a new tank, or more wick/wire! I can understand wanting a longer one so you don't get spit on with your high power RBA or something, but...????

I guess I am a girly girl type of vaper...I like my drip tips and pretty charms to co-ordinate with my outfits. I have my protanks (16 of them, yes they are my fav, PIFed evods and other tanks ), my mech mod, my VTR and ego's dont feel the desire for any more "hardware" I have found my favorite juices and only need to buy a couple of bottles a month to replace what I have used. Dont want to get into dripping or DIY (any deeper than my one peppermint vape) so I can afford to buy pretty drip tips and still save over 1/2 what smoking cost me.

On a side note I am enjoying the Iclear30s that came with my VTR but coils are a bit high and it is too much of a juice hog to use with anything other than my DIY peppermint

You have the carto/clearo people that put a drip tip on for looks, and then you have the drippers that want something that performs. just saying. lol

Performs? As in, has a hole down the middle? ;)

Gennie users, tank rebuilders, probably at least ten different other groups who I've never heard of who find drip tips worth functionally optimising. They will probably all have different needs though - e.g. Genisis users probably need more insulation because they can get very hot, while some tanks have spitting issues, and users invented the 'doughnut tip' to prevent the liquid from getting into their mouths.

I would 1/2 disagree. Lol. I bought my first couple of tips JUST for looks, but one of them felt just right. It had a little ridge on the lip, and It just felt better! Then I got a few more like that, and by mistake ordered one that was similar, but longer and thinner...well I actually liked that better! So there is some function involved for the clearo kids as well.

Now I'm really sold on cartos. And if you are going to spend $50 on a nice tank that you can customize any way you want, damn straight gonna put a killer tip on it too! ;)

I collect drip tips like some people collect mods, and I use them all regularly :) I have aluminum, stainless, and acrylic tips in various lengths, colors, shapes, finishes. I use them as a color code to help remember what flavors my cartomizers are. I like a long, polished steel drip tip for minty flavors, black acrylic shortie for espresso, and so on. They definitely can make a difference in vapor temperature.

Never thought the metal tips would cause a heat sink, great point,i just ordered these white plastic tips.....

I just popped a black plastic drip tip from my old Nova tank into my RSST tank and i feel it makes a difference in the voltage drop,i cut the tips too make them shortys,no more frozen lips either. Also makes the tanks less top heavy and a lighter mod to boot.

Review those when you've tried them out, please :) Curious about the jade. I've seen some stone ones I'm curious about.

They arrived, and I don't think they're even low grade soapstone (which is kinda what I was hoping for, given that it was advertised as jade, but too cheap to realistically be jade)...

I'm going for plastic / resin / polymerish stuff. Ho hum, they're reasonable quality plastic if that's what they are (feel quite soft, smooth and warm), so can't complain for the money.
