I drip into my carto constantly. Ever since I had my first (And only might I add.) dry hit.

I would point out that refilling a carto is not the same as direct dripping with an atomizer.
From everything I've read, direct dripping has a much cleaner taste ( You don't get that extra "special" flavor that lingers on your tongue.), personally, I kinda like the feeling of dripping hand wise. It substitutes for the habit of having to grab a lighter to light the analog, only instead it's priming it with liquid.
I drip on a 901 atty and its not too bad. I also use a drip shield. I prefer the empire mod 901s
tj99959 gave a great example of a good dripping setup.
BTW, IMHO, the 306 atty's are no better than the 510's and they are a much bigger pain to work with a drip shield because of the slide-on (rather than pop-in) drip tip design. I have had only one bridged drip atty (it was one of those PITA 306's) so I can't really speak well to that but I think the point is that de-bridged atty's remove the last thing between you and the pure vapor (assuming you have no / removed the wick).
For me, I use dripping for testing flavors and for the occasional "I'm in the mood for a little of flavor X" but all of my day-to-day vaping is done with carto tanks and clearos. Working on perfecting a DID tank setup I just got but waiting on pieces parts.

Personally I think dripping is easier to do than using a carto or tank or any other set up. Once you get past the initial phase of having difficulty remembering if you need a few more drops or not it becomes second nature just like knowing when your cigarette is about to go out.
Check out cisco spec atomizers (you can just google that) for the most affordable but high quality atties out there. If you really are okay with dropping a dime, check out HH357 which I can say is the best atty on the market without getting too many replies that argue. I also really like the i06 from ikenvape, but it's a ..... getting a nice glass tip for an i06 sized atty.

I enjoy dripping because it helps me control my vape time and I get that "ending sensation" that a cig has. Instead of chain vaping on a tank or clearo, when the flavor starts to drop off, I set the PV down, Pick it up a little later, add a few drops, start the cycle again.
To start, I'd suggest what tj99959 said. On my ego, I do need the shorty extension, or my drip doesn't have enough clearance for my drip shield (but I have a fat drip tip that I like to use for it [see pic]). If you use a standard thickness drip tip (like the one on the left in my pic) it will work fine. Also, the shield slides nicely behind my slim tank thread cover:

Lately, I've been dripping on the A7 on my DNA box set at about 10 watts for my all day vape (DIY Carmel Vanilla Latte) and every now an then a toot of DIY Limeade off of the eGo dripping set up.
To start, I'd suggest what tj99959 said. On my ego, I do need the shorty extension, or my drip doesn't have enough clearance for my drip shield (but I have a fat drip tip that I like to use for it [see pic]). What I did was remove the filling from some of my old cartos and it works great! I only add about a drop at a time and thats good for like 5 puffs. Its a great solution if you only want it for tasting or if you want to see if its right for you.
I have a few cartos like that. I take out the filling, and the paper around the center tube and cut both (filler and tube wrapping) down to about half inch and return to the carto. IMO it's the same as filler-less, and allows for more than 5 puffs.
I've grown discouraged of tanks honestly. I have a 5 ml Archemedes tank. The carto that came with it produced poor vapor and died within 4 or 5 days. I want to get a new carto, but I've read this is a common issue with tanks. (I'm currently puffing on an old blu carto I have been using since the tank carto about three weeks ago.). I have a feeling it may be the way I vape though. I vape like its a cigar.
I have the SmokTech eGo Passthru. What brand of Atomizer would you suggest?

Probably my favorite way of dripping. I like using this type of atty in a GoodSense Vapor - 306DCA atomizer holder, helps prevents the over dripping juice mess that can happen occasionally with a cannon drip tip.

These work well also and I use them quite a bit as well. My favorite for using with a VV or a Kick is the dual coil atomizer from Clouds of Vapor. Dual Coil Atomizers . The will use any 510 drip tip. A drip shield is decorative when used on a 510 atomizer...will not keep a over drip mess from happening should you add too much juice but some folks like the look. A cone on an eGo will add some thread protection tho and support the atomizer if dropped. As a general rule unless the drip tip has a large opening I pop it off to drip

The drip shield has a pair of o-rings in it, one below the hole in the atomizer and one at the top. It also has a hole near to top to allow airflow. These will not work on a 510 without an adapter.
I also use several rebuilable atomizers like the RBA and Phoenix....Great vapor but making the coils can be fiddlely...
As other have said dripping gives great vapor and flavor. When I am home I drip, when on the move driving or out walking I use a carto tank.

Thow away the plastic part that would hold a cartridge.
Though this is really pushing the 2 amp limit of the device (at 2.5ish amps), so use at your own risk. If you pick up the 1.8 ohm version it is 2.05 amps.
If you use a sealed 510-510 shorty extension, and a drip shield, and make sure the drip shield's bottom seal is below where the atty meets the extension, it does contain any mess from over dripping, since the air intake is at the connection to the atty.
Thanks for the heads up! I'm currently dripping in a modified BLU cart and can taste a difference even with this cheap-o-hillbilly rig.
Gotta admit... It's making me excited for my atto set up.
I'm sorry for all the questions (This is directed generally for everyone.), but I have been told a few times the thicker the juice the better, is this true?
