I'm a noob, been buying filled cartos for the last couple months with thesafecigs rn4081... I'm moving up, just bought an eGo starter kit, but I see everyone talking about dripping, and I see a drip tip in the accessories for the eGo. Can someone explain if dripping is what I think it is (just dripping the liquid on the cartridges cloth)? Also, are there other ways of filling the cartridges?

Hi!

You're close on the dripping. You would use an atomizer, not a cartomizer with a drip tip. There will be no cloth/fiber/fill. Juts a straight shot down to the atty. Drop a few drops in and vape as usual. The atty you would be using would be the same one you would use of you were using a tank on the eGo.

Some prefer this like when they're at home, etc. It's also excellent when you're testing juices at a store or something since you can change up flavors quick and easy.

dripping is when you drip your eliquid directly onto the coil in your atomizer. You bypass using a carto completely. The drip tips have a bigger hole in them so the juice will go into it instead of having to take it off each time you need to wet your atty. Usually lasts 5 or 6 drags before you drip a few more drops on. Generally it's considered the better taste and throat hit, mileage varies hehe.

The common explanation for dripping is putting about 3 - 4 drops directly into the atomizer. It is best if done with a manual battery. Most auto batteries have a hole in the center and if fluid gets in there it could wreck the battery. You could remove the tip - the part that goes in the end of the atomizer or you could get a drip tip to fit. It has a larger hole in it so you could drip directly through it into the atomizer. You could take the filling out of one of your carts and use that as a tip. Remove drip, replace then take a few drags. Hope that helps

When I first started vaping I was dripping without realizing it. Sometimes the polyfill in the regular cart wouldnt wick well so I would drip a few drops in the atomizer. Now I drip when I'm at home at my computer desk. If you have a tobacco flavor that you don't like just drip 2 drops of tobacco to 1 drop of menthol and its a whole new ball game. That way you aren't wasting any juice too.

When I went to the local store where I bought my eGo, I got my first real exposure to dripping. They use eGo's on the tasting bar there and drip in the flavors you want to try.

Gimpy - That's kinda how I do my mixing experiments. I start at 1:1 and adjust from there. When I find a ratio I think I will like, I make up a tank of it and vape it. If it passes that test, I will go ahead and make up a bottle.

I was dripping from the get-go but once I got used to Boge LR cartomisers and even more so now with Dual Coil LR cartos, I have dripped less and less. Now I have a Liquinator tank and direct dripping is a thing of the past for me :) So yes.. get a driptip or two but also grab yourself a 5 pack of cartomisers to try out..

dripping is an art; a skill. it takes a while to get it down pat.
You will hear more often than not... dripping is better: better taste, better vape.

The learning curve: 1. getting the right amount of juice is very important; from 2 to 4 drops (and dealing with new dry or primer'ed attys).
2. matching atty resistance (ohms) with power (voltage...true voltage)

cartomizers are here to stay... i believe mostly because it's easier, but myself, i could never stop trying to drip and get the best possible flavor and vapor.
So after getting tired of learning how to drip... you get messes, gurgling, flooding, burning etc. I got into carto's but always went back to practicing dripping.

Over a year now, and i got rid of all my bottom feeders, i believe dripping (top feeding) is the best vape possible....
even if attys are more expensive and dont last longer than a carto which is cheaper (#2. reason for carto's)

just my humble...
