So...

I've been playing with my prodigy for a few days now. Absolutely in love (haven't smoked an analog in 2 days)...

This thing is built for dripping. I haven't even used a cart with it. That being said...

How much do people normally drip in theirs on average per smoking session?

I.E. I will generally drip anywhere from 2-3 drops and then just start hitting it for a bit.

When I approach 3 drops it generally seems to have to get hotter before I get the hit (but it is a huge hit with loads of flavor).

2 seems appropriate. I'm just wondering what type of results others have gotten with their unit.

Sometimes when hitting it I'm not sure if it's really done and needs more or not... I'll get a burnt taste (or just off taste) then let it sit for a bit and when I think it's done I'll hit it again and it tastes great.

Trying to find the right technique.

Ok enough rambling... thoughts?

I normally put 3 drops in mine, unless the atty still looks wet, then I do 2 drops. Just don't make the mistake I did when I first got it, and rest the dropper tip against the edge of the atomizer. I had my atty half full of juice before I realized what was happening. The juice wasn't dripping, it was running down the side of the dropper and down into the atty.

I actually use 4-6 drops. 4 in a 901 and 6 in an 801.

Can I claim that I coined the term 'tailpiping?' I started using it months ago because when I did it it was like sucking on the tailpipe of my motorcycle. I think I may have once actually said I wanted to vape using my bike.

Oh well... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

i think it's about time someone makes a hollow cart. if i'm at home it's no big deal popping off the tip and dripping, but if i'm at the bar or out, that's another step! we need a rounded, hollow interior tip that we can drip straight to the atty :)

then again, i could go tailpipe. doesn't it get a bit nasty with fluid though? i mean, yeah we drip to the middle...but doesn't excess sometimes like..."condense" or dribble up the sides?

I just used a dremel and drilled out the tips of some 901 wide mouths, 901 slims and couple dura carts. Hollow center, easy to drip through, and no juice comes up the cart ever.. Now Im bout to order a prodigy base kit, been using the SD, want some backup. Wondering if the 3.7 volt cr123's will work as well as the 3 volts?? I have a ton of 3.7's and bout 50 901 atomizers, tis why I ask..

An update.

I noticed yesterday I was having one hell of a time dragging on my Prodigy and couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong. I switched the batteries and the fresh would burn through a bit better... at least I thought. I was worried I had killed an atomizer from inexperience.

I then looked over the little card they had sent out and sure enough there was a tip to clean any liquid leak on the adapter... I unscrewed my atty and noticed I had a freaking puddle between my contacts.

Wiped it up and was good to go.

Anywhere else feel like with dripping though half the time the juice goes right damn through the atty?

I'm still new to dripping but I had assumed you could drip a few drops and just leave it and then hit when ready. Now I'm thinking you have to drip and then smoke that drip off before letting it sit for any amount of times.

Am I right?

brandon, from how i understand it, the atomizer has a very small reservoir in it that holds a few drops of fluid, and if it is overfilled, it will seep out like you're talking. i still have problems dripping, some go 2 drops, some 3, some up to 5. what i do is drip a couple, vape until the taste drops and it tastes burnt or dry, then add a couple more, rest for 15 or 20 seconds, and vape on.

also if your fluid is a little thin, it will seep out of the atomizer more quickly, but if it is too thick, it will be harder to heat up and vaporize.

easy right? ;)

HD banger, got pics of your modded carts? :) as for the batteries, there's several posts on that, most agreeing that 5v is indeed the sweet spot. less isn't as good, and more is just too hot and lacking flavor.

or, if you dont have pics, what type of attachment did you use to dremmel out the carts?

I don't know, but I've never gotten liquid in my mouth with tailpiping Flitz, if that helps.

Yea I've never had this issue on the 801 Flitz.

Now on the 510... I've DEFINITELY got a mouthful of liquid from when I tried to tailpipe on it.

I'm getting the hang out dripping... now I'm just curious how many drips it takes in the morning to get it going after it's been upside draining all night.

I tried my standard two today and uh huh... was too dry and just went super hot. Then a few more.

It's a learning game.

I dont have pics, but I can take some today, I just used a regular tiny drill bit in my dremel, bout 1/8th inch drill bit. Im not asking about the 3.7 batts because I want 6-7 volts, Im asking if they can be used without problems in the prodigy, seeing as it has a resistor to drop the voltage to 5 volts anyways.. I just dont want to buy a ton of 3 volts batts when I already have 20+ 3.7 volt batts. What I want to know, is if using the 3.7's will hurt the resistor etc.. Not asking for 6 volts. ;)

P.S. I have read the other threads on the 3.7 question, NOONE from puresmoker has answered it from what I can see. WILL it HURT the prodigy, all I need to know..

Hey HD ... The resistor we use is strong enough to withstand 3.7v batts all day long ... they are rated at 2W, and pull .5ohms from whatever the source may be. So, if you use 3.7v batts, it will still be regulated, just not down to 5-5.5v ...

And sure, you can use a 3.7v battery without issue. Regulated, it will drop roughly .5v ... Unregulated, it will stay at 3.6 - 3.7v under load (topping at 4.2v unloaded)

Hope that clears some things up :)
