Dripping?

Ok, I have a RIVA, and I love it. I really thought, however, that I would really dig the drip tip method, so I ordered a drip tip. But whenever I do it, there's not hardly any vapor. Maybe I'm floodin' it or somethin, I'm only putting 3 drops, 2 or 3 drops, in and it just isn't really workin'. Is it just me? Am I doin it wrong?

I am only little more than a week or so into dripping myself, but I sympathize with this experience!

Sometimes it is hard to tell if the battery is low, the juice is weak, not enough juice, too much juice, or an atty going bad. I recently found that one of my atties went bad - I tried all the cleaning methods recommended on this forum, put it on a freshly charged battery, and it still produces very weak vapor, so I ordered a few spares. I don't know if it went bad because I flooded it, didn't keep it wet enough, or a densely flavored chocolate ejuice killed it.

Now that I have all fresh atomizers, and keep my batteries charged in rotation, I just drip 2-3 drops, vape for about 5-6 good draws, then add a few more drips, etc...Now everything seems to work very predictably.

I have fournd that low resistance attys work best for dripping and best on a 3.7 volt mod (as I found out the hard way that LR attys are not good for regular battery life. Recently I also started to de-wick and de-bridge my attys and that really makes the flavor better. My current problem is using a lot of juice cause I am a chain vaper LOL

@ needtoknow -- copy and paste. Now adays most web-browsers, as soon as you click the addy bar, it highlights everything blue. press cntrl+c and then when it asks for the addy in the forum, press cntrl+v. Copy and paste my friend.

I see what was goin on, just needed to warm up the ol atty. I think it works best with the e-juice I have (vapor junction e-juice that is) to just drip 2 drops, and then hit the heck out of it for like 15 huge puffs of thick vape. I think I was just floodin it a bit. Yeah there was a slight slight gurgle. I find, after I take out a half dried up carty, I can put the drip tip on and get about 6 hella hits.

I'm definately going to order a few spare attys and an EM LR 510 atty. I'm a chain vaper as well, it's kinda like my security blanket now, as it almost never leaves my hand. lmfao.

Every single method of creating vapor comes with a learning curve. Dripping is a delicate thing, because each atty with each device with each type of liquid reacts differently. For example, with a Joye 510 with a standard 510 atty I can drip 3 drops of VG liquid with no problem, but any more than 2 of PG and the atty leaks something awful. I've also found it's easier to take the drip tip off to drip. I only use a drip tip because of the smooth draw. I have a Wild Pawn drip tip and it's fantastic. It fits 510 components well, but it's not so snug fitting that I cannot remove it with my mouth to drip on the atty. Hands-free dripping (well, except for holding the bottle of juice lol).

Agreed. The formula for dripping success seems to change from atty to atty. Eventually you find what works and move up from there. I suggest starting with two drops, and if it's not what you're after, add a drop or two from there. If you're gurglein', you've gone too far. ;)

Since I was suggested to try sample kits, can anyone provide links to some sample sets of eliq that they have tried before, or ones containing flavors they like?

I can say right now, because I did a bit of research lol, that the strawberry banana smoothie eliq from vapor junction is good. If it wasn't good then I probably wouldn't have liked vaping as well as I do. The research concludes that the strawberry banana smoothie has 24mg/ml nic, and it's 80/20 PG/VG mix. Every thing I've read elsewhere has lead me to believe, that this is the most highly recommended mixture.

And now that I've been playin around with the dripping, i can taste the flavor really well, which is a positive! I just ordered the Watermelon Frost, which is the same mixture and make up as the sbs, and I'm stoked!

Also, sometimes it hard to keep from sucking air around a drip tip while dragging on one. Try doing different things with your lips when you drag on it. Maybe try dragging slower because there isn't as much resistance to air flow and if you drag as hard as with a cart you might be pulling extra more air into the atty to mix with your vapor.

Agreed. I've found that a slow, deliberate draw works the best. Almost seems counter-intuitive after years of analogs.
