I dropped my beloved bloodwood vv and it cracked near the top magnet and at the base of the bottom spring platform to the right, a piece of wood is missing. It fires still and the draw is tight. Anything to do about this? :(

I am so sorry that happened!

Robert has done repairs on wood REO's that have been dropped and cracked. You should PM him and see what he suggests. We can give you advice but he does know best.

There is life for a wood REO after an injury!!! I have heard it said that when he gets done there is no evidence of it ever happening!

Hope yours falls into that category!

Oh no, not a vv Woodvil. :( My heart breaks for you. I had a mini Woodvil that had a chunk missing at the on/off switch and Rob said there was nothing he could do for me but there is always hope. I would call him anyway.

I private messaged Rob months ago asking how to go about correcting some minor blemishes on my VV Woodvil. He replied promptly with simple instructions as to which grit sandpapers and which tung oil to use.

I still haven't gotten around to it. Taking it out of service for a day or two is too hard for me.

I dont remember me telling you I couldn't fix your mod .

It was the mini Woodvil that had a chip out of the bottom at the on/off switch. I sent you a pic of it and you said there was nothing you could do. It was this same Woodvil that had a crack that you said you couldn't fix either. Do you remember? I can't find the pic of the hole near the on/off switch. :(

My VV Woodvil got knocked off of a table last year- the trippy tip (my favorite) on it was shattered.
It was cracked up top where the magnet was. I used super glue and a clamp...also had to put super glue in the grooves and let it dry so the door would not easily slide off. It's not perfect but it works fine and doesn't look broken anymore.

I've got a crack similar to that one on the bottom of my purple heart VVW from a dropping accident. And a hairline crack across the top. I sent mine back to him and am just hoping for the best. If the best that can come from it is just gluing it back together so that it doesn't completely split apart I'm OK with that. It still works like a champ.

And yesterday I knocked my VV zebra wood off the desk. It caterwhompused the carto so badly I had to take pliers to the carto to get it off. Luckily no damage to the wood though and it still works fine too. :)

I think we had a misunderstanding . I can patch your mod back together but I cant make it look new again if there is wood missing

Well there may have been a misunderstanding. I sent a pic of the hole in the bottom where the chip of wood was missing. All I remember you saying was that you couldn't replace the missing chip. If you had told me you could patch it but it wouldn't look as new I still would have sent it in. It's water under the bridge now because I sold the REO. It just bothered me that you contradicted what I had posted above about mine. I'll keep this thread in mind if I ever drop and break (heaven forbid) one of my Woodvils and just send it to you to decide if you can do anything for it. :)
