I have gone from 24 to now 4. I typically dropped about 4mg at a time and every time I have dropped there has been a period of time that I really hit it hard to try and "catch back up" But after a time, that always kinda went away, and I would drop again. It normally took me a couple weeks or a month or two to settle in to the new level. Right now at 4mg though, it seems like I am really not getting to the point of ever being satisfied. I have been at 4mg for about a year now and am thinking of just trying the big jump now to 0 and see how it goes.

I really want to drop to 6. I'm at 12 now, but I figured I would wait a few months. After reading this I'm thinking about dropping and just keeping a bottle of 12 handy.

I'm at 12 now. My next step is to mix my 6 and 12 juice 50/50 to make 9.
I went from 18 to 15 before getting to 12. Baby steps!!

I vaped 24mg for over two years before starting to drop. I went to 18mg for a while and then 12mg and finally to 8mg. I'm at 11mg now because I didn't like the juices at the local B&M. Sometimes, I mix like juices of the same flavor to get the nic where I want it. I have 24mg juices that I sometimes mix 1:4 with lower nic level juices.

I've even ordered the same juice in 18mg and 0mg to make 9mg just because I wanted a level change. It's an easy method if you order the right stuff.

I started vaping Nov. 15 2013 at 18 mg. after a 40 year cig. habit It worked great. I dropped to 12 mg.after three months as I was getting anxiety from the 18 mg. I dropped to 6 mg. At 6 mg I am vaping a fool, almost non stop. The anxiety seems worse at 6mg. than 12 because I cant seem to get satisfaction. Should I go back to 12 mg. ? Thanks , Dave

Hello spada,
i started very roughly same time but at 24mg.
yes, go back up if feel too anxious would be my suggestion.

No sense in going back to analogs just cuz you dropped your nic too low.

i did first temp down to 18 mgs 3 weeks in just like you did.
then i dropped to 12 about 5 weeks after that but i could not sustain 12mg - was a vaping fool.
I did realize, i can actually be around 12 to 18 range in the days and can go down to almost 6 at night now.
(i mix, bought my fave joose in diff't nic level's so i can experiment)

i wanted to be able to vape but not intake so much nicotine - why get so much nicotine if i dont' have to?
and why not try to wean myself off of nicotine altogether - or just use really really low dosage.

however, in doing these step downs, i find myself always looking for a vape - this may be good or bad.
the main good - and always will be: no more analogs.

Hope this helps.

I went by my local shop today and they mixed me up some 9. Thanks for the suggestion! I feel better about baby steps. Sometimes the 12 is a little too much, but I definitely want too little. This should do the trick.

I started at 24 and 18 did not cut it for me at all. But after a month I went to 18 and a month later to 12. I did not notice any difference between 18 and 12 but that was also about the time I got into RBA's

I am planning to get down to 6 by the end of the year. I am not planning to quit this year, but I would like the cravings to be a bit less for times when I can't vape.

A little nic is supposed to be good for the brain if you are in the 40+ crowd. I went with 24mg for about two years and then started to drop. I went to 18mg for a while and then 12mg. Don't try to cut it too quickly. You might want to stay at a level until you feel like you don't have to vape more often to obtain satisfaction from it.

I don't expect to ever stop vaping or go to 0 nic unless it's for a week to pass a nic Cotinine test for some reason. You'd think that insurance companies would realize that vaping isn't smoking and doctors prescribe nicotine patches and pills for those who are diagnosed with certain memory related ailments.

This is a Wiki that all new vapers should be familiar with.
