Hi ya'll,

Just tried out dripping a little this morning, messy! But enhances the flavour of VG juices I found.

So a question about drip tips, is the sole purpose of a drip tip so that you can drip onto the atomizer without taking anything off? Or does it have another bonus rather than just using a cart with no filler in?

cheers,
-FV :D:D:D

The driptip is very straightfoward. It's a tip that allows you to directly drip the e-liquid into the atomizer without removing any parts. With a standard cartridge, you would have to take it apart from the atomizer, and fill in the polyester.

In all, the driptip requires more frequent refilling, but since you don't have to take anything apart, it is ultimately less of a hassel.

but dripping onto the atomizer with an empty cart on (no filler) still gives the same TH/Vapor/Flavor as drip tips right?

-FV:?:

Yes it does, but you have o keep taking the cart off that will get worn falling off on you, plus what a pain to keep pulling the cart off. Now if you want to do away with dripping all together get a cartomzer, or a juice feed PV.

i just ordered some "shorty" tip for my 510's. It says it has a wider mouth. For my dripping I always take the regular drip tip off because i for some obsessive reason, want my drips to land in the middle of the atty, not to mention, I don't want juice up in the drip tip as it will be on my lips and in my mouth. I can not believe that the drips are going to miss the sides of the tip and drop right through the hole into the atty.
And I can't count the drops as they are going in without taking off the tip. Hopefully the wider mouth of this shorty will help.

Why can't you count the drips? You don't need to shove the dripper into the drip tip. just hold it slightly above it and watch the drips go in. They'll always hit the middle of the atomiser because drip tips are funnelled to do that.

I don't understand why people say it's messy either. You must be doing something really wrong for the drips to go anywhere but into the ecig. Turn the bottle upside down, squeeze 2 drips into the tip, turn bottle right way up - good for 1 cigarette's worth of vaping. It took me until half way through my first ever cart on my first ecig to realise they were terrible and I've dripped from then on. It's far and away the easiest way to vape short of prefilled cartos, and I'm not a fan of them TBH.

While waiting to receive a drip tip, you can take a look to this cart mod:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/100970-diy-510-drip-mod.html

I used it and it worked like a charm. Now I have a Delrin drip tip but sometimes I get juice into my mouth because drops did not pass the drip tip. I need to shake a bit the PV to get drops down to the atomizer and sometimes I forget it. With that cart mod it was very rare to get juice into my mouth because of its wide hole to get juice in and its length. I'm still thinking about drilling another cart and try to get the chamber completely out and get a straight cylinder... some day.

Ah, that's the mod i used to use.

I have wide mouth tips that I referenced earlier. I'll occasionally - very- get liquid in my mouth. Practice.

Some times the liquid "locks" at the drip tip and bridge area. A light quick blow down the tube clears it.

I know longer have any flooding or problems with dripping.

Here's a tool for dripping and driving safely:

Enjoy

I can see how dripping would be messy, but that would be entirely the user's fault. You could somehow be really really dumb or have parkinson's disease and not be able to get it into the hole. Other than that, though, if you put juice in your drip tip and then don't bother actually vaping the damn thing, eventually the juice will work its way thru the atomizer, into the battery threads, and out the holes on the battery. Then it would get all over the battery(and inside, if you have an auto or non-sealed battery). You could also put drops into the tip and then turn it upside down for whatever stupid reason you might have to do this. Both of those situations would be really dumb because you wouldn't turn an open jar of honey upside down and wonder why you have honey everywhere. You also would have no reason to drip unless you plan on vaping. So both of those are irrelevant.

I prefer dripping because the cartridges are just a pain in the ..., and they don't last very long. Plus, it seems dripping allows me to vape all of a flavor out of an atomizer and then change to another flavor without still tasting the previous one better than a cartridge. I can't seem to NOT overfill a 510 cart, so I end up wasting juice and flooding my atomizer. Then if I have my auto battery on, I have to worry about whether or not I just destroyed it.

The ONLY bad part about dripping is when I'm driving. I've done it(I know I shouldn't, but I have) before, actually putting drops into it while driving down the road, but it's a biatch. Also, I should note that it's not all too convenient to carry around bottles of juice. However, I must also point out that even with carts, I still have to do that because they don't last very long anyway. And right now with no PCC, I'd have to carry the carts in my pocket. Screw that. Dripping is so much more convenient. Just watch out where you do it. I'm sure someone out there will probably think you're doing some kind of drugs, carrying around those bottles and putting drops in the mystery smoking tube thing... So be careful of that. Even if you're doing nothing illegal, you probably don't feel like being harassed by the cops.
