Dry burns will only do so much IME. They will squeeze a little more life out of atty's. But at some point it is not worth the trouble and you toss them. I rebuild VIVI's and rba"s on them eventually the wick gets so gunked up nothing will clean them. It is best to wash them as best you can so the wick system will be flushed as good as possible. Then when you dry burn you don't fry that stuff on the wick system. For me Dry burns is mostly about the stuff that gets on the heater wire. Doesn't appear to help the wick much. IME.

Wrong, Wick is silica - GLASS it can be burned back to White.
Flavor wicks should be removed before dry burning. You can watch the coil this way. Do not overheat.
I hold flavor wicks with tweezers and burn off with a bic lighter.
flavor wicks will eventually fall apart. Order a foot of thin wick and cut to replace. I believe flavor wicks are .6mm

Well I see your point but that being said I have t3 coils still going strong since they came out since I don't know November. If that taste funky ill soak in vodka then hot water then dry burn. But I mostly use the same coil with same juice so that helps. I also have not had time to get into rebuilding but that is in my near future. Protank coils out of 4 I still have 2 going since they came out first batch from sun vapors. 2 died burnt out but I have cleaned the others just fine.

IME it does not without causing a lot of silica to fray/crack and come off. I have never been able to dry burn a wick clean and sometimes it appears to actually melt the silica causing a choke point in the wick.
