You might have the new dual coil kanger heads like below.

Ah yes, hadn't thought of that.
Got those with a new tank and absolutely hate them - they went in the 'possibly trash pile'
The older style are much better IMO, but I think Kanger would prefer we buy new instead of rebuilding so they have an 'improved' version.

You can clean and dry burn then, they have silica wicks. You might need to try a couple dry burns and soaking in hot water to get them clean.

Should have mentioned that too !
I usually soak them overnight with a water change and then let dry for a day.

My wife and I have been vaping for a year and a half now and that's all she uses. If using the single coil heads....

You absolutely can dry burn them! Take the stem off by wiggling it loose, then remove the two 1mm wicks. Rinse the head in hot water and dry as good as you can. careful not to move the wick that's in the coil and dry burn a few times till the coil glows. Blow off any excess crap and install a new 2mm wick to replace the two 1mm you removed and push the stem back on.

Once you refill the tank and screw the base back on, let it sit upright for a couple of minutes and vape!

Kanger heads are a pain to get apart. If you want to do this get a firm grip wiggle and pull at the same time. When you do this just do it enough to remove the gunk try not to overheat it or the o ring will leak. Make sure to rinse it off and wash your hands before trying to rewick. Believe me if you dont rinse your coil good and wash your hands your vape will taste like it smells when you do the dry burn.

The chimney will pop right off if you use a paper towel on both ends and just snap it right off. If it were me, I'd take a tweezer and carefully pull out that nasty silica wick, dry burn, rinse and replace with cotton. I like 2 of the 4 strands of 100% cotton Peaches and Cream yarn, fits right in and no need to add a flavor wick. MUCH better vape than that nasty fiberglass silica. If you mangle the coil a little, slide a 1/16 drill bit in and straighten it up.
