I tried cleaning a kanger coil/wick by dry burning for the first time. I removed the post and flavor wick, rinsed the remainder of the unit in hot water, placed it on the battery, did intermittent burns until the coil burned red. I then put it back together and primed the wick. Now it just tastes like it's hitting dry...it tastes like it smelled then it was dry-burning. What am I doing wrong?

I didn't bother with dry burning to long. I found out how easy it was to rebuild so I don't bother with it any more. I use to just save the used ones up and rebuild a bunch at one time. Good luck to you and happy vaping. :)
I have actually thought about rebuilding, or even just rewicking existing coils. Have just been a little nervous about it....maybe soon....

If you got the tools to check your work, it's no big deal. That would be a digital multi-meter.

... just in case you really want to rebuild. Not everyone does. Both ways are perfectly fine :)
