Hello All,

My first day here, been vaping for a month today and off the analogs!

I see all these vids about dry burning and watching the ones focused on the Vision clearomizer v3 CE4 (I have one waiting for me at home in the mail today).

My question is, when it comes time to clean it, to say, try another flavor juice, won't dry burning it burn the wick and give me the nasty burn taste for the next juice?

Any advice, experience appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the ECF. Congratulations on getting off the analogs - that's quite an accomplishment.

The wicks on most atomizers (and certainly on the Clearomizers) are ceramic (glass fibers) so can't burn and won't melt at the temps a coil is capable of producing. The burned taste in clearomizers is usually produced when the wick is dry and or contaminated and can be solved with a good cleaning. Dry burning is just part of cleaning a clearomizer wick - it heats up the wick hot enough to burn off contaminants.

The burned taste from cartomizers is usually caused by accidental dry burning which actually melts the filler around the coil and can't be cleaned out - that cartomizer should just be tossed.

Hope this helps. Take care.

very good info. question tho if you don't rinse the vodka out of the wick can that cause a problem?

Just squeeze the wicks with a dry paper towel or something, that'll get most of it, then give it a little time for the rest to evaporate. Should'nt be a problem. Personally, I don't find Vodka to be necessary, just rinsing with water before the dry burn works just fine for me.

Another noob here, and through all of the vids I found myself watching, I was wondering about this as well. It's something I'll need to look into when I decide to upgrade to a fancier unit.

Also, as an aside, hilarious avatar, Hank. I still remember bits and pieces of that episode, even though King of the Hill was never really a show I got into.
