Well I have had a BluCig, a dragon M401, a Joy306, multiple 510 and finally decided to try the DSE901.

Let me say I have used more than 10 510 atties and still have like 10 batteries. I really like the 510 but was getting like 30% good atty while the other 70% just sucked. Regardless it still my main pv device.

The first time I used the 901 I thought it sucked. The kit I bought came with the automatic batteries and you had to suck very hard to activate it. So hard that I was getting more juice than vapor. Yikes...I learned I could control this by covering the exhaust hole in the atty. It was a pain to use.

*Smoke production is excellent in-par with the 510.
*Taste is amazing. A lot better than the 510. The 510 is horrible in this department in my opinion. I did have a few atty with good taste. But most just sucked.
*juice Wicking it's about the same as the 510.

I have then ordered a manual 901 battery and the pv it's a lot better now. In fact, I think I will be buying more 901 parts than 510 if I can solve the leakage issue.

One caveat I just can't fix or figure out it's finding how to refill the cart. You can't use the same technique as the 510. I still have leaky cartridge and get juice in my mouth most of the time. I have tried the PTB mod, the walgreen face scrub mod and also tried the straw filler mod. All with the same result, is there a better way to do this?

In conclusion, the 901 is an excellent PV. The atty is much better IMHO than the 510.

I've been vaping for about a month and have pretty much been using a 901 (just got a couple 510 "disposables" from madvapes.com for $10). I'm using the blue foam mod for the cart and for the most part haven't had any leakage problems. I found when I do it's when I drip more than a drop when putting on a fresh cart after letting the atty drain over night.

The only time I've really had any leakage issues with the 901 is when I overfill it. You want the top of the cart wet but not puddling. That extra drop or two you throw in there will come back to haunt you. With the stock poly-fill I find it helps to pull it out every few days and squeeze it dry in a paper towel. Doing that seems to help it both absorb more juice and wick better. I've been playing with PTB for awhile with mixed results and am currently playing around with a mod by user kristin. So far so good but I'm still in the testing phase.

I have tried the 510, and the DSE-901. I started out on the 901 April of 09, and because of a vendor here having a sale on the try me 510, I gave that a shot... I use my 901 ALL THE TIME. It is easier to use, I dont have to push a button (I never pushed a button when I smoked, and dont think I should have to push one now lmao!) the flavor, and vapor is exceptional, and parts are decent enough to come by.

When ever anyone is interested in vaping, I introduce them to the 901, because I feel that it is the most user friendly, and that it doesnt have many malfunctions.

Excellent advise on the overfilling and papetowel! That's exactly what I do and have never had any leakage with my 910.

The cart should look like a slushie when filled correctly. If it appears alittle too soggy, I tap it lightly on my jeans to see if it makes a wet circle, if so.. I do it again until no little round wet spot if left. Then it's filled to perfection:)

Thanks for the review and all the replies. I'm a newbie who just ordered a 510 for my first e-cig. My 2nd choice was the 901. This new venture looks like it could repeat the analogs history -- going from Kent to Winston to Parliament to Benson & Hedges, then to generics because of the rising prices. First the 510, then the 901, maybe the 801, then ......... heh heh. Anyway, thanks again, I'm learning a lot on the ECF.
