I've had the juice-activated batt problem with my Intellicig EVO a couple of times...luckily most of those times I was able to unscrew the atty before it got really hot...when I didn't get to it in time, it would just hit the 5-second cutoff and stop. Does the 905 really just continue to burn until you pull the batts? BTW, the EVOs' LED light doesn't ever light up during this, either...

I have a 905 on the way, hope I can figure this problem out beforehand so I know what NOT to do when i get it... -J4mmin

how do you tell the difference between v1 and v2? didn't they all just come on the market?

one flaw I discovered was that the battery case should have some sort of plastic between the battery and the metal case to prevent shorting out. there is no way to keep the baattery centered on the spring.

will a free replacement be the exact same model? what if we bought from someplace other than HC? will the manufacturer honor all returns?

the V2 battery body is sealed. the V1 one is not.

we will replace only those dse905 bought from HC with the verson 2 one.

I think, manufacturer honor all returns.

Ok, I received my Dse905 on 12/7. I believe it is the v2, there's no hole in the atty connector. It started the the zombie dance, as some have referred it, last night while I was holding it. Unscrewed the atty and all was fine. Then 10 miutes ago, while reading over the forum, I look over on the counter and there's vapor coming out of the whistle tip. No lights flashing, nothing to show that it's on.. This really stinks. I was starting to love the little guy. He's just so cute. But I cannot have him misbehaving.. Has anyone replaced the electronics with a simple switch.. I'd actually like to do away with the main on/off switch and LED's, but I'd hate to tear it apart if there's a quick fix. Are there any other posts on this matter..

Mine has the sealed battery compartment, and has malfunctioned twice in the past week. I am absolutely certain now that it has nothing to do with juice getting past the atty connector into the battery compartment, as I have a greencig cartomizer adapter on there at all times(even with a 901 atty) just to be sure the juice stays where it's supposed to.

Both of the instances involved the unit turning on by itself, with no indication it was activated other than the sound of liquid vaporising in the atty. Also, in both instances the locking switch on the bottom was activated, and I had just finished taking a hit. My solution, both times, was to just turn that bottom switch off-this deactivated it completely, and I was able to reset it and continue vaping normally.

This is definitely a serious design flaw in the digital circuitry, and I would say at the very least to be very careful when using this device. Never allow it to sit idle with the master switch activated(you can tell when it's on as it "locks" in place, and appears about 1/2 as long as when it is off); Current still runs through the device when the switch is on. You will have no warning that the device has activated itself, other than your atty burning up. Be careful!

On another note, has anyone with a modded 6v 905 experienced this?

I found this thread because I've just had the same problem. My 905 is a V2 and it's less than a week old. Has been working beautifully but a few minutes ago I picked it up to take another hit and almost dropped it as the atomiser section was burny hot. :-x I grabbed it again and unscrewed it quickly.

I don't think this was the cleaning cycle as it's 6 days old, I'm a light vaper and I also use 2 510's.. pretty sure I haven't put 1500 hits on it in that time. Also I didn't see the light on - it might have gone off just before I grabbed it, but it was in my line of sight and I probably would have noticed.

Now the cartridge has no tension in the atomiser - it's coming out in my mouth, and could just fall out if I tilted the atomiser end down. I guess this is from overheating?

I had just topped up the cart, including dripping a drip onto the atomiser wick. Could this have been part of the problem?

Looking forward to an update, newsunshine. Thanks for looking into the problem! :)

thank you for telling me that.

whether the bottom switch was on when the atomiser heated up by iteself? if so, the side switch has a problem.

as for the carts, some of them have no tension in the atomisers. we will talk to the problem with SLB soon and reply to you later. :)

Hi,

Bottom switch was on when atomiser heated up. Prior to that I had been leaving bottom switch on most of the time. Now I'm trying to remember to turn off every time.. don't want to burn the house down 8-o

The cartridge had good tension until the atty overheated, and no tension after - I had to throw it away. I'm sure it got hot enough to melt the cartridge. I was worried that the atty was burned out but it seems to be going ok.

I hope there's not a problem with the design, I really like my 905 and don't want to send it away in disgrace. Also my sister has one arriving any day, so that's in doubt now too.

Looking forward to hearing what the manufacturer has to say.

I still have no idea why they tried to make it so complicated... people are making mods with no solder/switches at all; why go to the trouble of adding two switches and an LED ring??? In the future, I really hope they just keep it simple...

I'm not a big fan of LEDs in this application but having a master switch to be sure your PV won't trigger from pressure in your pocket is a very good thing.

A variant of the old May West line comes to mind: "Are you happy to see me or is that just a Li Ion fire in your pants?"

Note to Sun: Pleezzze Sir, don't give me another demerit. I'm not talking sex here, just getting a point across;-)
