So I just wrapped a dual 22g 8 wrap around a 3mm bit and I was wondering how many watts I should vape this at. Any advice?

According to steam engine coil wrap you're build (if it was Kanthal A1) came out to about 0.25ohms. I would suggest starting at around 40W and working you're way up from there. The thicker the wire the more power is needed to heat up.

What does that mean?

Simply means the moderator moved your thread to a different / better suited sub section of the forum.

Always measure your coil with an ohm meter before firing the coil. This insures that the coil's resistance matches your target and that there are no shorts.

Always start out on "low" power and work your way up. There is no standard watt to start out with, its your personal preference.
Got it thnx

Welcome to ECF. 0.25 ohms is around my favorite resistance... It sounds like you just need some experimenting and experience; we can give warnings and what we do/don't do, but wattage is preference. I like hot vapes and fast rampups (coil gets hot faster) so 66 watts is okay to me for 0.25 ohm coils. 55 is perfect for long hits. But everything about vaping is preference, after safety rules are looked over ;)

Ohh ok, that makes a lot more sense. I thought there was supposed to be a designated wattage for certain ohms but it sounds like that's not the case. Thnx man you just made my day

Actually, the size and metal composition of the coil can make a big difference; I just realized I have tiny 24gauge kanthal wire coils and huge claptoned kanthal Ribbon that are the same resistance, but the 24g wire ramps up much faster of course
