Dual charger getting very warm.

I have two Panasonic NCR18650B batteries and a two slot Trustfire Multifunctional charger.

I usually have one battery charging and am using the other. The charger and battery usually get a tiny bit warm, but not to a level I'd worry about.

A couple of days ago, I had both batteries charging simultaneously for the first time. I noticed that the charger and both batteries were MUCH warmer than usual and there was a bit of a smell that I did not like. Kind of that new cheap plastic electronic smell (for lack of a better description).

I removed one battery and all was back to normal.

Is this common?

There are a lot of good chargers in the market.
Nitecore, XTAR, or Pila.
Nitecore is a little bit cheap than the other two, and the quality is good.
Personally love my XTAR VC2.

I'll give my vote for the Efest LUC V4, I can charge four batteries on the 1.0A setting at it doesn't get anything close to warm.
