Let's get back to helping the OP...

OP...use larger diameters on those coils if you wan't a higher resistance.

Maybe its just me but it seems he is getting higher resistance then he wants saying his tester is showing 3 digits. the size of those coils and 28g kanthal for the number of wraps showing doesn't seem rite to me for .3 ohms, so I take it its to high and he wants lower to 1.0

I was confused too and wondering the same thing but the OP has not returned. Maybe we can help him sort it out tomorrow.

Lol thanks man. Didn't mean for this thread to blow up. Or burn down in this case. I'm laughing to myself because I've spent three days I this forum looking for my answer and when I finally give up and post, a fight breaks out haha

I am looking at the diameter of the coils in this picture, what was used to wrap them? looks like there pretty big more like macro coils if I use the post screws as a reference to size. A micro coil with the same number of wraps would be lower ohms, less wire is used to wind on a smaller mandrel for the same number of turns. Nano even lower still.

I believe I used a 2mm screw driver on this one. I just don't want to go below 1.0 cuz I'm not sure if my battery can handle it and I don't want my face blown off. Still kinda new at this ya know. And also I'm not chasing clouds, just flavor.

No worries... So just to confirm... Are you trying to get dual coils above 1 ohm? If that's the case you would be better served by using 30g kanthal or twisted 32g.

Yeah. That's the conclusion I'm coming to. I just couldn't figure out what factor I had to change. Didn't think I couldn't get there with 28ga.

Also, anyone know what the lowest safe Ohm I can go to with the Battery I'm using? I don't want to go too low but again, what's the point of dual coils if your not gonna sub ohm right?

Since 10 wraps of 28g around a 1/16 drill bit should come out to about 1.0 ohm (one coil), you will need to compensate. I think you are better off just using a single coil or higher resistance wire for duals.

Right. So from what I read, 2x 1.0 coils would be 1.0 Ohm right? A dual coil halves the total Ohmage right? (I suck at math therefore I suck at building haha)

Do you have a multimeter to use? Something is not right. Seems all those wraps should give you a resistance of about 2 ohms per coil. Did you check the resitance of just one coil at a time?

I haven't tried that. I wasn't sure how I could. Should I build one side of the Nimbus, test, then build the other coil the same and test?

Trying to build 2 ohm coils (1 ohm total) with 28ga. just doesn't work IMO, and that's the problem I see in the Original Post. They would take half a day to come up to temperature. (well, it would seem that way) That's why I posted the 1 ohm DC nano pic.
30 or 32ga. wire would be more efficient for that build.

    add:
Two one ohm coils will give you a 0.5 ohm build. (or half the resistance of each coil.)

    +1^^
I personally wouldn't sub ohm on the Panasonic battery, You'll want a Sony VTC4-5 for that. Do you have another method of testing your build other then the little test meters sold for atomizers? they are ok for close readings but I still don't trust them much. have tested atleast 2 dozen of them and none were correct, some off by as much as a full ohm1.0 and none of the ones tested showed the same reading for the build I put on them.

Yeah haha. They take forever to heat up.

You need to know the max amp draw. Is that info on the batt. If they are the green NCR18650's the max amp limit should be 10amps.

Using Ohm's law | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators at 4.2volts (fully charged batt) .45 ohms will put you at 9.33 amps. So .5 -.6 ohms should be just fine. Most times the max amp draw is the max continuous amp draw though they can go to higher amps if pulsed ie. my purple efest IMR 18650's are rated 30amps continuous and up to 60amps for 75 seconds.

No. The only other thing I have is a VV/VW that just yells "LO!" at me if I put anything I build on it.
